Falling Star is my sixth book, so I would hope I'd improve, but I actually think I have.
And it feels so weird saying that.

I find that I have to admit, and those of you know know me will know how hard it is for me to say this, that I think it is good. My ability to craft descriptive passages, weave conversation and write in general has come a long way since Wingless.
I'm working through doing the third edit on 'Falling Star', the third book in the Muse Chronicle series. This one is my favourite edit, the one I do by listening to a text-to-speech program speak it out loud - you pick up so many clunky sentences that way.
SoupPod
The 1st ep of An Appropriate Amount of Soup is now live. In the first ep we discuss the glacial pace of novel writing, the name John, becoming hermits and most importantly, Michael Kellichner's novel, "A Debt to the Dead".
Episode 2, in a fortnight, will feature David James' "Wingless".
I made it on to Episode 2 of a new podcast where the streamers read out the first chapter of a book and then try to make funny and entertaining guesses as to what happens. Wingless is up in a fortnight.
No shade on the publishers, they've had some real garbage dumped on them, and they're doing the best they can. They are terrific people, but I need to try other avenues to get this out, as Book 3 is nearly finished.
Well, due to many reasons, the publisher I sent the Muse Chronicles books haven't been able to even look at them for consideration, and it's been a nearly 2 years. So I've withdrawn them to look for other opportunities elsewhere.
Thanks :) Full disclosure, while the characters in all three books are very much Ace, the fact that they are only becomes one of the more forward themes in Book 2 onwards. Just in case that was important in the choice of book. Have a good one!
All the main characters in my series are aro/ace, but they are also not exactly human (Angels trapped on Earth). They do have very loving sibling style relationships with the other celestials, but if Urban Fantasy isn't your thing you probably won't be interested. Book 1 out now, 2 & 3 out this year
I can then see the "liberals for blokes" people getting all upset they they feel ostracized and unwelcome in the "liberals for ladies" party.
And then I will laugh and laugh and laugh
Started writing book 3 of a series. Book 2 had a really good and powerful ending (according to my beta readers) that I absolutely hated. I couldn't leave my characters like that, so rather than do something else first as was planned, it's straight into writing the next book.
"Swan Dive" my fifth novel and second in the Muse Chronicles series has been officially put to bed and sent off to the publisher for their consideration. Now the nervous waiting starts.
Also should hear late June about a short story submitted for an anthology.
Even if nothing happens I'm having fun.
Stuck writing for a heartbroken Muse of Music? Spend two days at a Folk Festival.
So many ideas.

I'm less than 2K words away from finishing writing the 2nd book of the Muse Chronicles and my characters just completely changed the ending on me. I hate the new ending. Yes, it makes more sense, is more dramatically appropriate and sets up book 3 so much better, but I still hate it.

Thanks for the link!
An image showing a database scan of Meta AI and finding my book, "Wingless"
Huh. I guess maybe I am a real author now. Just found out my book has been read and added to Meta AI's learning system. I hope they at least bought a copy...
Pi Day!

@microsoft365.microsoft.com - your recent product update about "Changes and Benefits" email listed two features being removed, nothing added, no change in price despite the removal of features and the 'Benefit' being described as "...you can cancel if you want to."
One question - Who hurt you?
Do you need a duck?
Just hit 60K words on the latest novel. Happy with the progress, but what is making me really happy is that I may have finally settled on a title for the book! 🙂
Maybe. Probably.
Ugh. Naming stuff is hard.
Roleplaying for me - tabletop RPGs both published and home-grown that I alternatively run or play in, as well as computer-based RPGs.

Is it horribly wrong that I want to pronounce this "Amaze-O-Nite"?
That's a ton of work you've both put in
Very nice!
Getting back into work (new school year) and also writing after having January off. Still struggling to settle on a title for the WIP, the 2nd book of the Muse Chronicles.
Question: Do other authors have a trick/process/etc they use to come up with a title for their work? I find it the hardest part.
Yes, weirdly enough, both the real world and in story problems found a solution in the same process (albeit in different circumstances) Some truth telling and speaking of secrets. (Between me and work and between the characters)
