There is DaVinci Resolve for the iPad. I've only used it once when I needed to do an edit while traveling. It won't work on a phone. I'm often editing 3-hour event videos, so the desktop is better for me. Hope you find something you like to use on a phone.

I quite like @blackmagicdesign.bsky.social's DaVinci Resolve. Used for film. Free version is sufficient; the Studio version is a one-time payment. Or included with the Speed Editor keyboard (what I use).

Not simplified, though. So, maybe not an alternative.

The photo has at least the following layers turned on:

I believe it currently always shows the evacuation order (pink) and warning (yellow) areas; at least I didn't see a way to toggle the view, at a glance.

@countyofla.bsky.social has a useful Emergency Survival Guide in multiple languages (plus audio in English and Spanish). The PDF is worthwhile, whether you live in LA.
