dhuartson: Don't let anyone talk you out of spending $15 on a new hobby. That $50 will be the best $400 you ever spent.
This is not wrong.
Screenshot of a (since deleted) tweet of user Paige Lewis @Paige_M_Lewis on Nov 18 2017: Poets! Use moons in your poems! Use birds & flowers & oceans! Don't trust anyone who says "Poetry has had enough of these things." Because what they're actually saying is "I have had enough of these things." & how could anyone who's "had enough of the moon" be right about poetry?
This tweet deserves to live on.

Welcome back to the Artemis II crew :) Such a huge relief watching them arrive safely!
If they didn’t want women to steal hoodies, whoever came up with women shouldn’t have made them hot in oversized hoodies.
My resting sadface would be grateful
I love vicarious fandomery
What I like best about the Artemis II photos is that it was taken by actual humans. An actual person had to frame it and manually adjust settings. It's their own artistic rendition of what they thought looked best at the time, something no probe, rover or unmanned spacecraft can take. it's art
sometimes adult choices have adult consequences, I guess

Losing my mind over this. I have a machine in my lap on which I can periodically toggle over from something else I'm doing on the machine to watch a SPACESHIP return from THE MOON. Earlier I could hear the SPACESHIP'S PEOPLE as they talked to other people LOCATED ON MY PLANET BUT VERY FAR FROM ME.
an adult making adult decisions 🙌
The capsule splashing down onto the water with the three red and white parachutes above it
Splashdown! Vehicle is stable and upright. “A perfect bulls-eye splash for Integrity and its four astronauts!” #Artemis
People go, music stays

Happy Punderworld day!! Volume 2 is officially out in comic stores! 🎉

[alt text by NASA] The Moon, seen here backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse on April 6, 2026, is photographed by one of the cameras on the Orion spacecraft’s solar array wings. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. Credit: NASA
Whoa 🤯
The Moon, in full eclipse, with the #Artemis II Orion spacecraft. Part of the Moon and spacecraft are lit by Earthshine, and both Saturn and Mars are visible to the lower right. Incredible. Details: images.nasa.gov/details/art0...
OH MY GOSH

Totality seen from lunar orbit, the Moon eclipses the Sun, revealing a view few humans have ever witnessed, a dark disc surrounded by a pale solar corona.

FYI if you’re talking about the #Artemis II mission and you want to get the spaceflight terminology right, the mission is “crewed,” not “manned.” (NASA made the terminology change official decades ago, so this isn’t new, but a lot of folks just aren’t aware.)
