I gave my presentation in class today - well, technically yesterday. It went well! I was able to cover all the important points and everyone seemed into it, including the instructor's young daughter (who had brought her own entertainment). Then I had lunch with my bestie and my grad gown arrived.

No stream tonight as I am exhausted. On the plus side, I met with my advisor and basically gave my presentation. It was about the right length and he said it looked and sounded good, with a few suggestions. I'm happy (and relieved) and feeling good about giving the actual presentation on Wednesday.

Sorry folks, the rain got me today, I just barely have the energy to hopefully get my work done never mind stream. I hope you all have a good time zone.
We're not shiny actors, we don't know what our characters are doing, we probably can't pull off their proper voices, and we eat the snacks in the middle of the table. We discuss things out of character and get off topic. We take the story in directions the DM never could have anticipated. Etc.
My other concern is that actual play shows are scripted, with professional actors, edited... *very* unlike the actual experience of playing a TTRPG. If newcomers go into their first roleplaying session expecting it to be like their favorite episode (or worse, highlights vid) they'll be disappointed.

... how can a TTRPG have an official actual play show? Or anything with a fixed story, really? The whole point is you make your own characters and your own story.
(This doesn't apply to pre-written encounters and video games that allow for multiple endings. Players can still tell their own story.)

I think the first time I went to a furry convention it was really eye-opening. To be surrounded by so many like-minded people, and to truly have fun and be happy. After that, I always needed to have folks like that nearby. Whether that's cons, VR, or group calls.
