We're a grand bunch despite everything 😁
Mine was about the the same. We're just not bot worthy 😆
Don't do it! People seem to be having the rug pulled out from under them!
They also don't realise that I play for team ladies!
I seem to have avoided those ones.
Yup, Limerick is nice.
Hard to know which ones are which, don't want to accidentally get a real person in the purge.
Spotted a fox while out for my walk this morning 🦊
Eek!
Same! It is my entire plan for the weekend... as long as it doesn't crash.
So looking forward to the release of the digitised 1926 census next Saturday - I’ve a long list of people (family for my mother, and for me, Cumann na mBan women) to look for! Might go out Friday but Sat/Sun I’ll be glued to 1926. Yes, I am that history nerd. #hopethesitedoesntcrash #1926census
The Máire Ní Chrualaoich Lecture, organised by @cemslimerick.bsky.social, takes place at The People's Museum, Limerick. 6 pm, Tues 14 April.
Prof Emma Nic Cárthaigh (UCC) will speak on ‘Prudentia versus politia: bardic encouragement in a poem by Tadhg Mac Bruaideadha for the fourth earl of Thomond'
This will seem a little odd but the photo shows a giant gorilla with arms aloft towering over the rooftops of Georgian Limerick. A nearby but seemingly unrelated billboard declares 'The dinosaurs are now extinct' - presumably because of the giant gorilla.
I need to know what's going on here. #Limerick
(Found in my Dad's stuff, he loved to photograph a well-placed sign or billboard)

Early train to Dublin, surprisingly not much busier than usual, at least in this carriage.
Stone plaque reads Site of Pennywell House home of the Harrold Family
Today's plaque is hidden in plain sight on the banks of the canal in Limerick.
Posted it a few days ago on Facebook and some locals to the area had never spotted it.
This family were responsible for the building of the Catholic chapel and church of St Patrick's.
Michael Hogan the bard of Thomond 1826-1899. Statue erected by Peter Janes Higain memory of his father Peter John Hogan of 47 Mary Street, Limerick city, cousin to the Bard, wounded by sniper's bullet during the Irish Revolution from British rule during 1916-1922, while in the military service to his country in the Irish Republican Army The descendants of the carpenter and coach building family of Hogans (1820-1970) of No. 2 Carr Street rejoice in honouring Michael Hogan, the bard of Thomond. Sculpture by Jim Conolly 2005
Plaque of the day.
Pedestrian bridge in the sun. Left wall shorter than the right
The humped back bridges on the walk from Limerick city via the canal to @unioflimerick.bsky.social
One wall shorter than the other so the ropes attached to barges wouldn't get stuck when the horses pulling them would pass these points.
Just vaseline works for me
Newspaper illustration titles Queer Things That Will Happen When the Horseless Carriage Age Dawns in Chicago. It shows a line of horse-drawn vehicles above, and a row of cars, trucks, vans below.

Oh this! That whole political pension system is farcical.
It is so much nicer than all the alternatives, that's for sure.
Loved that song, going to have to relisten now.
Managed to duck into a shop to just avoid them yesterday. Mad stuff!
I'd be down for this 😁
I like Bluesky, find it a little lonely sometimes because I like the social aspect of media and am less a fan of just yelling into the void.
This exactly! Even the most benign posts require moderation in the comments. Almost every old picture I post comes with a torrent of "the council has ruined everything" comments.
In the last week I had someone take my name on insta, changing the s for an underscore but apparently it doesn't go against any guidelines and the person with the account won't respond to my DM even though them liking my story was how I found out about them 😆
Thank you, being sick probably isn't helping. I'm glas your father passed along his love of the city to you.
