Is common courtesy dead? It’s not a reflection on that generation - they are awesome to each other - but it must be something that society thinks is OK because they’re young. Rant over.

Increasingly annoyed at the way employers treat young people. Following an interview, literally nothing, not even a “thanks for coming but we picked someone else”. The best my 19yo has had was an email from head office after an interview, saying, “thanks for applying but the post is now filled”
Secretly inspired by my Friday Five entry last week?
Where are we with Trump and his Nobel Prize, anyone know?
Hell yes to U2 am- forgot that epic opening.
Awwww yes, (2). I went for a different Elbow opener because I love its two-tonedness
Beginning to think my favourite albums all have to have ridiculously long names.
1. I wanna be adored - Stone Roses
2. This Blue World - TTOALOE - Elbow
3. One Way - Levelling the Land - Levellers
4. Politik - AROBTTH - Coldplay
5. Round Here - August and Everything After - Counting Crows
Proper long belly laughs at that one. 👏
The Apprentice but for a political party rather than a business. I’d watch that. Winner gets to be MP for Basingstoke.

Is it out of the question that we speak directly to Iran and negotiate safe passage for UK-bound tankers if we agree to stop letting the US use our air bases?
Is this just your cover story, for why you’re striking up a conversation with a black-haired flamenco dancer?
New York Morning - “fingers to the nub” can only be said in his accent!
1. Tarnlife - Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican
2. The Gambler - Kenny Rogers
3. Je t’aime - Jane Birkin
4. Sunshine on Leith - Proclaimers
5. New York Morning - Elbow
I know, I’m being generous here..
Is this type of funding a symptom of some kind of transition to lower school numbers? Too much uncertainty in the system with the change in private schools also, that they are patching things until they can plan properly?

Why go to so much trouble and then only trial a full ban with 75 children in the study? .. Is just one of may questions I have about this.
Nice.
Will this go on the Substack sometime in the future?
*I like to play this before the summer as it invokes the END of summer, and compels me to urgently make the most my summer plans.
1. Songbird - Christine McVie
2. Boys of Summer - Don Henley NO, HEAR ME OUT*
3. Don’t Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
4 One Day Like This - Elbow (I wanted Kindling-but that’s more “end of winter”)
5. Third of May - Fleet Foxes
2= 👌
Stornaway
4 is brilliant. Takes me back to some Galway buskers in 1993. Lovely times.
So I will go for:
1. Neil Young - Harvest Moon
2. Oasis - don’t look back in anger
3. Waterboys - Fisherman’s Blues
4. Pogues - Dirty Old Town
5. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
And if you disagree, spend a night in the ‘Pot and come again.
Hold your horses Newmark. Seen the forecast?
You’d have to find and choose between the moment the player first made contact with the ball, and the moment the ball left that contact. Imagine a curled pass where the ball spins and travels up the boot, or a rolled backheel. The distance someone could run in that time is up to half a metre.
Touring again this year! Still have the energy although it’s time they toured some new music too imo.
1. Room to Roam - Waterboys
2. Up - REM
3. Songs from the Rain - Hothouse Flowers
4. Second Coming - Stone Roses
5. Recovering the Satellites - Counting Crows.
