I notice it a fair bit in instagram highlights of WSL/NWSL, also some lower league men's football. I assume that the craft of clipping highlights for vertical is a *thing*, but a lot of the time it feels like 'this game had 3-5 TV cameras rather than 20'

apols to the nwsl social media admin, but piggybacking on this to wonder about sports camera placement for a vertical video age. ~All these clips feature action moving across the screen in a way that works on traditional TV but kinda sucks for vertical

Crabs, the everything app Social media and tech platforms are all converging on similar, broad sets of functionality. It's everythingification, and it could happen in football.

In the software world, code-gen tools are wanting to incorporate design tooling, and vice versa

It's a 'process loop' which could potentially *really* speed up work. And I wonder if there's an equivalent up for grabs in football

'Crabs, the everything app' is still funny to me 48 hours after publication, which is a bonus

Very much a match more significant for the occasion than the match itself

I love this. I love how they’ve just fully embraced Italy and are loving it and it shows in their performances. More British players should go abroad.

*Huh*. Wearables is kinda interesting because smart watches have worked but really needed Apple's design and tech chops to make it happen imo. And even then, 'consumer' smart watches followed on from fitness trackers for athletes

A convincing argument I heard was that personal computers were a work thing way before a 'consumer' thing. Systems seem to be developing pretty quickly for non-code white collar work practices. Could happen in consumer too. Idk, ofc, what the vibe was like around PCs back in the day

This is called editing though.

I frequently find myself wondering if my ability to use Claude (not my skill with it, just my willingness to use it) is because it turns tasks that previously weren’t editing into editing and I’m an editor.

I guess you could just say that you want it to be both a force multiplier and a force identifier

3 days ago 0 0 0 1

(Like a lot of one-liners I think it's close to reality but not quite there, because the same set of tools also kinda lets you work out that the force you're multiplying *is* minus)

Repeating a line that I heard off whatshisface twitch streamer but a force multiplier is not exactly what you want if the force is -1

A lesson on data: 'gameweek', a concept you just expect to work with zero complications, but no. There's always something that plays havoc with defining a concept.

Good time to invest in expensive infrastructure projects, but don't assume cheap supply will continue indefinitely

The days of 'we rank employees on how many tokens they burn' always seemed like it'd come to an end sooner or later, although in hindsight I wonder if that period will be seen similarly to periods of low interest rates

genuine question: is 'a Stanford study showed stories are 22x more memorable than facts' a fact or a story
