To receive author’s copies in paper is increasingly rare, esp for articles, but Reallexicon fuer das Antike und Christentum still provides them. It’s a quite nice way to let you know that the book is out.

Just now: Heikki Hietanen defends his (in my view exceptionally nuanced) thesis on the figure of Paul in Acts. Prof. Shelly Matthews (Brite Div School) acts as the faculty opponent (yes, this is our terminology!), Senior Lecturer Outi Lehtipuu presides.

I’m so sad to hear this. It was—literally—today I found myself thinking I should ask someone in the know how’s Bentley. May he rest in peace.
