ππ I tried re-uploading it several times but bluesky is just being cranky right now ππ
Oh, well, in that caseβWAIT A MINUTE.
You mean the alt text? Yes, that's showing up, but not the actual image.
I'd be more jealous if images weren't currently broken on here. But I'm still pretty jealous. π
on the other hand, if bi-optic means having two eyes, then that also covers most of humankind π€

I mean I guess if you're in the "everyone is actually bisexual" camp, then clearly everyone who ever had a biopic made about them is/was bisexual, so... π€·π»ββοΈπ
BYE-oh-pic is correct (like bio + pick), but these kids are saying bye-AH-pic (like bi + optic with a silent T)
Yeah, seems like bluesky is doing one of its little hiccup things. I can't see the image you sent to me either....
Oh nooooo
Unrelated, but my 20yo tells me there are a lot of young people on the internet who pronounce biopic as if it rhymed with myopic. We both find this deeply upsetting.
Photo of a page from a book, in which police inform a woman that her ex-lover has been killed. I've highlighted part of the text, which reads: "She covered her hands with her face"
I've reread this book a number of times, and this remains one of my all-time favorite authorial/editorial goofs. Truly a β¨gemβ¨.

I cannot tell you how quickly my interest in a thing dies the instant it asks me to create an account or download an app.
Unless I know from the get go that it's something I'll use regularly I really cba anymore.
A DONUT STUFFED WITH PECAN PIE π€― the diabetic coma would be so worth it
WaPo takes note of Trumpβs βoscillating claimsβ about the war, but avoids the obvious conclusions β that Trump is deranged, that he is unfit, and that he shouldnβt be in charge. This is an example of the normalization of the dangerously abnormal. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Have just finished rereading the Temeraire novels (one of the best fantasy series ever, I said what I said), and came to the somewhat startling realization that Laurence is a reckless hothead who does a lot of stupid shit. π€ This explains so much actually. π
Not Art implies the existence of....
I know ππ
It really is!!
Jasper has many many many opinions.
He is very cute, if slightly loud.
In stunning and infuriating news, looking at the same shelf repeatedly does NOT cause a book that isn't on that shelf to appear on that shelf. So rude π
It really is! (For us nerds, anyway π)
In between rounds, the entire audience started doing the wave in this hotel ballroom. Will Shortz: "This is the best thing that has ever happened." π
Commentator: "This is my favorite place to be, because this is the only room in the country where people are actually solving things" π
Crossword tournament day two: playoffs! Top 3 contestants in each division solve a puzzle on stage, on big whiteboards, in front of everyone. They get to wear noise cancelling headphones, and we audience members get color commentary from some word-nerd comedians. ππβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Oh you should definitely come some time! Starting next year it'll be in Philly at a supposedly very nice new venue.
A slightly blurry picture of my torso wearing a t-shirt that reads "Crosswords, because life isn't puzzling enough"
I'm here in glamorous Stamford, Connecticut, for the annual American Crossword Puzzle Tournament. Yes, I am a nerd, currently happily in the midst of nearly a thousand of my fellow nerds. Contestants this year range in age from 17 to 100!!!
If I orbited the moon it would be the only thing I ever talked about for the rest of my life.
This pizza is the shape of the moon, which I orbited. My dog has black fur, like space, where I went. Today is Saturday, which is a Day but there is not daylight in space, where I was last week.
uhh... somewhere else obviously π
