This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

Helping Mom and Dad install their new TV. Dad stays up to date on tech but isn't very mobile. His engineering mind had it worked out in his head perfectly--installed in the cabinet in no time.

I wrote another thing about that stealth fascist language that well, fascists want us to fall for, even in ads. It's not all so innocent. Be vigilant everyone!

Her book prompted me to get some. I used it for some hand sewing recently and I felt it really did help. Less twisting, etc.

A folded, linen handkerchief with and hand-embroidered "J" in lower right corner. The fabric is a pale mossy green (looks brown here) and it rests on a darker green cushion.

Made a hand-rolled hem handkerchief from lovely handkerchief linen. I'm satisfied with my embroidery. I may make these as little Christmas gifts. (I'll machine stitch the hem on any others--hand rolled is beautiful but labor intensive! #sewing

Trump Goes on a Charm Offensive as He Woos Holdout Republicans

As Shawn McCreesh and Tyler Pager report, House Republican holdouts were apparently swayed to support President Trumpโ€™s tax and spending bill by signed merch and photographs with the president.

I love my summit. I also used the raw silk suggested. I like the blue you chose.

Commercially available sewing patterns have been a cornerstone of home stitching for a century. But well before they existed, there were people trying to share sewing patterns.

I've been clocking your progress. It looks amazing! The way the pattern continues up the back through the hood. Very nice.

It's obvious why the Great White Egret's feathers were used to decorate hats in the 19th century.

Only due to Conservation Laws do we still get to enjoy them. Laws Matter.

Thank you!

You know I did! I'm going to purchase some others for sure. I did make the free belt from the fabric I cut off the bottom of this one (made it as waste-free as I could)--I think the dress needs to be longer or fuller to have the belt work for me.

Image of white woman with light brown hair wearing a black dress with small white dots (creates the illusion of a grey dress) and black sandals. The dress is The Envelope by Cris Woods Sews. It is a kaftan-like pattern, but this one is hemmed to her knee.

So happy that @erwhatdidyousay.bsky.social shared #criswoodssewsenvelope I had fabric perfect for it. I'll be making this one again!

I followed the pattern called Summit for mine. Fascinating pattern with eye-catching results. Love the yarn you're using!

Hand holding a white sock to display that it has been visibly-mended with a square patch of houndstooth pattern weaving. Weaving done on a loom using dark purple and bright yellow embroidery thread. The pattern looks like yellow pinwheels on a purple field. Very cheerful!

Another hole in another cheap cotton sock covered using my loom. Had no idea Houndstooth was so simple! #visiblemending

Thanks for sharing this. I immediately purchased the pattern and made a version for myself. Love it!

I was so impatient, I wrote the sender when my mail notification said it had arrived and it wasn't on my doorstep. That's because it was on my back doorstep! I had to write them back and say I received it! (Second use was even nicer!)

Even though I'm very lucky to have many choices in NYC (where there is now a HL into which i will *never* go), I also buy from Wawak. Also, if im planning a project, I take advantage of when an online fabric store will offer matching thread for purchase.

Am also going to suggest a hardware store. Pretty dress!
