Alrity that is it for my inaugural thread. Congrats if you made it this far.
It is a joy working with/for @spencerlaveresmith.bsky.social and our bsky-less labmates.
Hope everyone is having a good week/month/year and if not maybe treat yourselves to a Cousa objective (use code filipsentme0) (5/5)

And like that blinkifying your suite2p processed data has never been easier. Now you can finally make those ROIs pop ad libitum. Ornot. @ornotbike.bsky.social (use code Ereneta10 for 10% off)

For hardware that delivers extra crisp cells and generous FOVs, check out @pacificoptica.bsky.social (4/5)

We made a blink-enhancing app for calcium imaging and you won't believe what happened next! YouTube video by Filip Tomáška

Primarily made for my wonderful lab but why not share the joy of blinking? So here it is: github.com/ftomaska/roi...
a fresh new repo with both a matlab and a python version. If you feel like watching a clearly unscripted demo I have an option for you right here: youtu.be/my1CE9sn2FQ (3/5)

... the VIBES here at @ucsb.bsky.social are famously immaculate. Something to do with the combo of the beach (www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2kU...) and S-tier science...?

So I figured it might be a good idea to VIBEcode a GUI for our calcium blink amplifier. Make it easier (more fun?) to use (2/5)

Snappy looking calcium imaging videos – Labrigger

Hey everyone!
Do you remember this post from your fav blogger? labrigger.com/blog/2025/11...

Not super easy to use - I know. Well, spring break has sprung here at ucsb and we decided to bring that activation energy down a notch.
I guess welcome to my first bsky thread? letsgo (1/5)

Learning how to ignore hunger does not sound like a great evolutionary strategy. They might need admin privileges to control those.

The hustle to crack the genetic code between Nirenberg and Ochoa was a pretty spicy one too! Or so I hear.

Just a piece of cortex I saw under the microscope today 🤓🔬
Cell types: neurons 🔵, astrocytes 🟡, microglia 🟣. Observe how astrocytes are covering two long blood vessels, crossing all the gray matter and almost reaching white matter. The brain is so pretty!

This place sort of feels like the science Twitter I used to like. Maybe even better? Fingers crossed.

Wish I had a fresh preprint to share, but here's the next best thing:
a fresh osprey with some blue sky background.
