⛔️ I’ve always said that in this crazy “rat-race”, no matter how fast you run, you’re always a “rat”.

Step aside and reevaluate.

That's how mine looks now after barely holding a pen for years. My hand was cramping trying to write some Christmas cards for elderly relatives.

Believe it's still ongoing for group and X match etc. In case you use the wrong sticker or whatever (via people saying how much they hate it on UK MedTwitter)

Haha! I think I did as a surgical SHO back in the day?!? I mostly remember writing the bottle labels though. Would struggle to do all that tiny writing now.

We had to get special dispensation to be allowed not to redo mandatory training in transfusion reactions...as diagnostic radiologists. If someone needs a group and cross match done by me while I'm reading their CT, something has gone very wrong.

AMAZING!

You're hopefully extremely proud of yourself. It was a triumph. People have been raving about how great it was! I'm even going through my agenda to see which on demand lectures I need to watch because there were too many good ones at once 🤯

Back home from #RSNA24 - lots of exciting info on the future of radiology & AI.
Well organized conference- appreciate the video recordings-I’m watching sessions right now that I couldn’t get to & earning CME. I Highly recommend the virtual option -even if you attend in person! @rsnasky.bsky.social

Hugest congratulations on a really superb meeting! Kate is always the one I look at wondering how on earth she does it all, but this takes the biscuit for crazy achievement 🍪 🙌 🎉

Standing room only to hear Dr. Resnick give a primer on #MSK #radiographs! And it’s Thursday morning!

#Radres at #RSNA24 - this is a great lecture to watch on the app. Great foundation for R1s and reminders for R4s

Petition to @rsnasky.bsky.social to post the plenary session from Dr Carrie Cunningham somewhere for more people to access, if she allowed it. Her talk "Removing the Mask" was incredibly brave and honest. Such an important lesson for us all - none of us are immune from mental health issues.

I only attended #RSNA24 virtually this year, unfortunately, but it's still an excellent meeting. I learned so much, revised a ton, worried about what I reported before these reminders, and very much enjoyed seeing more sessions on communications, error, Human Factors and human beings.

I suppose I'll view it as a type of legacy that I started the ball rolling and it's continued without me. Great talks again today (I watched online)

I suggested the Human Factors course to @katehanneman.bsky.social at a Professionalism Committee meeting a few years ago, and she thought it was interesting enough to sponsor for the meeting. I invited Niall for our first run of it in 2022, so it's fantastic to see it continue and change outlooks!

Also good reminder re size alone not being everything - hormonal influences change symptoms in women (for once, menopause actually makes things better).

Kind of regretting not buying one last year. Suppose virtual attendance does reduce this specific type of shopping, which is something!

Forget AI, this is what we need to work on! Priorities.

Mine was last year too! He took maybe 30 seconds, but can't really complain...considering what he was dealing with. Hardly a model. Highly recommend.

What does environmental sustainability have to do with radiology? ❓

🏥 Healthcare accounts for 5% of global carbon pollution—and radiology makes up a staggering 1/5th of that 🩻

(✈️ For perspective, aviation contributes ~2% globally.)

🗑️ ~2/3 of the energy used by CT and 1/3 by MRI scanners is wasted

"If perfection is your goal, you will live in a constant state of failure"
Cunningham
Perfectionism is self defeating- mastery is different & inherently requires intermittent failure as u continue trying to improve

Highlights from Removing the Mask v. 2.0 with Carrie Cunningham MD, MPH.

"Depression is insidious, progressive and relentless, but it isn’t a character flaw and says nothing about your competence as a physician. It is physical and heavy. It is chronic, but it is treatable." #RSNA24
