Congratulations to our founder, Gavin McCormick, for winning the 2025 Climate Breakthrough Award!

I keep seeing this narrative. They know 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 how it works. This is just straight up 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖!! They want you to think they're stupid. They want the stupid people to think it's true. They're playing at being stupid people for the stupid people. This may be an unpopular opinion but,
Still excited and surprised to see that we pulled off monthly data. Perhaps overselling us, Bloomberg called Climate TRACE "The Bloomberg Terminal for the Earth's Health."
Dads are spending 3-4x as much time with their kids as their dads did with them.
When father figures are engaged, kids show better cognitive development, boys have fewer behavioral problems, and girls have fewer emotional problems.
Every child deserves strong parental bonds.
This was shared in the comments a little while back — tried to find the comment and r/t it but my search skills failed me.
Anyhow, been sitting with it for a bit alongside using some of the tooling that's dropped in the last couple months and I agree with this take.

This person will help us convince more institutions to take specific (often easier than you think) actions that will dramatically reduce emissions across the globe.
A broad group of companies working with us at a new level of rigor to change practices that materially reduce GHG emissions (not to mention a lot of pollution that directly impacts human health).

Didn't realize how much variable load is possible. A large opportunity to optimize not just load, but emissions reductions. Cooling potentially similar to the residental HVAC use case (watttime.org/news-and-ins...), but on steroids.
Something I'm researching. Perplexity makes it too easy to produce content like this... www.perplexity.ai/page/semanti...
More connections between emissions reductions and improved human health outcomes.
Maybe, granted that it's a historically repeated error to use whatever technology is currently at hand to describe the workings of the brain. #ai #llm #meditation [3/3]
Random musing: On a meditation retreat a few weeks ago, I was observing thoughts and seeing how I might be aware of them at different levels of abstraction. They really aren't "words", much of the time. Similar to "thinking in latent space"? [2/3]
Cool idea: the-decoder.com/coconut-from... (Chain of thought in latent space, not word tokens) #ai #llm #meditation [1/2]
I'd hope that insurers would be one of the key market-based backstops to climate risk. But this market could easily fail, too. www.netzeroinvestor.net/news-and-vie...
We ourselves and other beings
Are not retained in definitions.
We are perfected in a dominion
That is not an idea.
In a single moment,
We are on a level that we did not travel to.
We abide there like the heart of the sun.

Just wait 500yrs, give or take 😛
Just followed @pnsn1.bsky.social. They seemed to have the clearest info after this event.

Tsunami warning in SF. Stay away from the coasts, but these maps (2021) show areas that should be safe even with a "once-in-a-millenium" tsunami. www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/arti...
