Throwback to some of my PhD work!
We uncovered the antimicrobial activity of tormentil, a traditional medicinal plant, identifying compounds with activity against MDR bacteria and the ability to enhance colistin efficacy.
Really proud of this one ☺️

I had a great time chatting with 7th and 8th graders in New York through @skypeascientist.bsky.social!
We covered things from antibiotics resistance to what it’s like to be a researcher. Their curiosity and questions really reminded me why sharing science matters 💡🙌
My PhD student @leonielorenz.bsky.social (with Eva Geissen) has made this nice (free) online course to introduce mathematical modelling for biology:

Including both molecular and epidemiological examples
Wrapped up a great few days at the 2025 @bsacandjac.bsky.social ARM Workshop! 🎉
Huge thanks to @friendlymicrobe.bsky.social and @conmeehan.bsky.social for organising a fantastic event. Loved hearing about the latest in AMR, from novel fundamentals to therapeutics.
Already excited for next year! 💊
Delighted that our review on resistance to last-resort antibiotics in Enterococci has been published in FEMS Microbiology Reviews

TL;DR: the Enterococci are really good at evolving resistance to antibiotics in new and creative ways.
