Today's #30inks30days is Kitty Inkpot Caramel Almond Waffles. The base colour is a light taupe, and the chromoshading separates out into intense shades of red-orange and blue-grey for a very striking overall effect.

Yesterday's #30inks30days was delayed for technical reasons! This is much lighter than most inks I've swatched for this event, and I'm not sure how legible it would be in a pen. I love the chromoshading in the big swatch, but it doesn't show strongly in writing.

Day 12 of #30inks30days is Little Boat's Journey Amid Rain. This is one of my favourite Kitty Inkpot inks. Like Misty Lighthouse from day 9, this ink is really good for showing chromoshading in normal pens and normal writing.

Day 8 of #30inks30days is Kitty Inkpot - Lost Rose. This ink has a lot of shading in writing, and a surprising amount of chromoshading – the colour variation isn't huge, but there are a lot of different shades in there.

A full-page ink swatch of Letter from Platycodon, a mauve chromoshading ink from Kitty Inkpot that shows darker indigo haloing and some patches of a subtle coral/peach shade.
#30inks30days Day 7 is KIP - Letter From Platycodon. This is a warm mauve ink which shades into a peachy coral-leaning pink, with patches and haloing of dark indigo. The pink is a little more pronounced in reality, but overall the effect is pretty subtle.

It's not as pronounced, but I've definitely still seen some chromoshading in writing. That said I usually tend towards medium nibs, as fine nibs aren't great for luxuriating in ink properties in general! ;)

Day 6 of Kitty Inkpot #30inks30days is A Certain Peach Tree. Is it green? Is it beige-grey? Is it a rich burgundy? All of the above! This was an early example of Kitty Inkpot's no-holds-barred approach to chromoshading inks and I love its madness.

Day 5 of Kitty Inkpot #30inks30days is A Certain Letter, a slightly pastel pink base colour with a much more intense pink-red in pooled areas, chromoshading into some grey-blues. I've inked this up several times and really enjoyed it each time.

Day 4 of Kitty Inkpot #30inks30days is A Certain Blue Whale from their Season 2 collection. It's a lovely muted grey-blue that shows muted teal and a more saturated dark blue in chromoshading. I’m usually quite "meh" about most blue inks, but I really like this one.

Day 3 of #30inks30days: this is KIP's Candle Flame in the Forest, a gorgeous cool green with blue undertones and a coppery-red haloing sheen. Also, it looks super-cool when it's drying; it goes down a dark blue teal and gradually reveals the green as it dries.

Day two of #30inks30days and my month of Kitty Inkpot inks. This is Clear Dream on Field, a very pretty warm pastel lilac with a sparse gold shimmer – Kitty Inkpot's Season 1 all came in shimmer and non-shimmer versions (which I think might be the only time KIP have done shimmers).

30 Inks in 30 Days is a FP community thing all about using/enjoying/showing off a different ink each day. Some people ink a pen each day and write with it; I generally do a swatch of a different ink each day. I try to stick to a theme, too.

I can be wordy when I get going, and platforms like Instagram and Bsky aren't always great for that. So I've finally pulled my finger out to get my fountain pen blog up and running again! First step was getting posting going again, and now I've just finished manually migrating to a new URL. Yay!

I recently acquired the Murayama Purple Kakuno which impelled me to figure out an ink match to put in it. (I am definitely one of those people who prefers the matchy-matchy.)
