I am not interested in being killed. Thank you very much.

Habaneros are quite cheap. I can get 10 for like $2. So I decided to puree all of them (along with a random sweet pepper) into my stew.

And oh my god.

I love it.

But I would also never serve this to a friend.

Someday, your friends will realize your heart is as cold as my butt.

Exactly this, yes! Historians have made an effort to make this text freely available in digital archives. There was just no need for this and now I'll be side-eying this "book influencer" for the rest of my life.

That wasn't the bookstagramer's review but it was one of her follower's review of it. It was not a popular pick to be featured as "Book of the Month."

It would be a true waste a time. Imagine an incel writing the longest reddit post ever from the early 2010s. And that is his writing style and the experience of what I tried to read.

100% this, yes! It's staggering how badly written this is. This man was an idiot in every capacity.

There's been a couple of times where I wonder if the people on bookstagram even read the book they're showing off.

Booktubers are my favorite! But also you've sent over some of my favorite videos there to date so I might have experienced the best-of-booktube here.

Bookstagram is... meh.

Pretty stacks, annotations, lifestyle shots, and “look what I got” posts. Might be my least favorite.

Why did I start my day listening to bookstagrammers. 4/10 experience.

There’s this incredible author in the HR fandom (honestly several tiers above the source material) who has written a few sibling incest fics, which has been a pleasant shock.

Only reinforces my theory that the strongest writers out there are kinksters under the hood.

It was VERY STRANGE, yes! The publishing company is also odd.

But the review of it is very, very accurate:

"It reads like the diary of a 12 year old incel that was held back for three years."

Can someone answer a sensitivity reader question for me real quick? The subject is "things that might unintentionally be insensitive toward black people." DM me if so.

Also, if anyone is ever curious (as I was) there is no need to ever purchase a copy of this book. Freely available translated copies of this are easily found online.

It's one thing to preserve access to a text. It's another thing to aestheticize or celebrate it.

This is no fault of the translators. But, it is genuinely bad writing. It rambles and the sentences are clunky.

It's difficult to understand what points are being made when they are being made. Just the most pathetic "oh, woe is me" I have ever read in my life.

DNF.

Book influencers on Instagram have been recommending ‘Mein Kamph.’ One girl even made it her “Book of the Month” and showed off her gold-filigree special edition copy of it.

So, I finally checked this one out.

Objectively speaking this is one of the most poorly written things I’ve ever read.

I've had a few people ask for queer book recommendations with neurodiverse rep lately. There are plenty out there, but it's often tricky to find them, especially if you're not sure where to start.

So here's a short list of LGBTQ+ books - all of them with suggested reading ages:

I’d say it does overlap but it’s more like digital dollhouse play.

Fiction is fiction, even if it uses real people as inspiration. And playful or abstract uses (like Tomodachi Life) are harmless.
