My first Ultima was the VI when we got a home PC in 1990, but had we owned an Apple II back in the 1980s I'd no doubt have played one of the earlier Ultima

I remember finishing the arcade version at a ski resort in 1991. I was beside myself, I was so surprised I could go that far, it was as if someone else was playing. By the time I reached the end, a small crowd had gathered and was cheering. I was a shy teenager back then.
