“What was really surprising to me during my initial dive into all of this was how, when you look at the question of superintelligence as a documentarian or journalist, it doesn’t take long before you smack your forehead into the low doorframe of race science, because it’s baked into this technology”
In a different timeline, bombing a school of girls would have shocked people more. The world is not angry enough.
Also wow, so much has happened in the world in 2026 and yet Bato dela Rosa has still not shown up for work even once
Meta paid an effective fed tax rate of 3.5% on its latest tax bill — its lowest on record.
Mark Zuckerberg's net worth just hit $222 billion.
And Meta is pumping $65 million into elections this year to boost AI friendly candidates.
Now it's reportedly planning to lay off 15,000 workers.
Hello?
Not to toot our own horns but I feel like we packed so much in this one hour panel with @karenhao.bsky.social and John Palfrey.

Time to bring this up again
On Friday a judge ordered those who uploaded the videos to YouTube to remove them. By Saturday, a backup of the videos was available online as a torrent and on the Internet Archive.
As someone who went on the Internet for the first time in the early 90’s, I fucking loved the Internet. It has given so many things in life, and afforded me so many incredible experiences.
And to see it, and technology in general where they are today is kinda soul crushing.
It's unfair that we were suddenly pushed into a world where bros in Silicon Valley get to decide which professions are worth keeping. It's so fucking unfair.
What pains me deeply is that in the past three years, I've had to explain, again and again to anyone who'd listen, why it's still important for a human to write things. Why I don't bother to read anything that no human bothered to write. Why it's still important to use our brain to write, and think.
I love writing. I always have. It's the only way I can make sense of the world. Through the years, I've made it my bread and butter, and I take pride in that. Naturally, I hate LLMs with every fiber of my being for cheapening the value of the craft I've carefully honed for over 10 years.
This shows the sort of data that Proton Mail, which prides itself both on end-to-end encryption and that it's only governed by Swiss privacy law, can provide to third parties. In this case, the FBI. @evystadium.bsky.social has more.

I'm just so tired of the US government f*cking up everything. I don't want to hear about Trump anymore. Why did I have to be born in this era, in time to witness the dying throes of this colonial empire
I'm gonna repeat my comment.
Talking about nonexistent "super intelligent" machines is like talking about the Cookie Monster rather than corporations creating real things causing harm. A non existent machine god bringing apocalypse or utopia is a framing that is harmful. Period.
I just realized how addicted I am to YouTube now that it's down. Hm I should do something about this.
What even is a college degree worth now. Everyone just wants to use AI to summarize everything. I think reading annoyingly difficult and pointlessly complex writing is an integral part of the higher education experience. Why. Why would you want to opt out. What will you do with all the time saved?
What have users done this week on X? Used Grok to generate AI visuals of
- Charlie Kirk with huge breasts and huge nipples
- Sexualize and “nudify” women and underage girls
- Generate an image of Maduro in a bikini
Welcome to the AI CSAM shitshow—it’s only going to get worse.
Big Oil spent nearly $100M to get Trump elected in 2024.
Now Trump is returning the favor, giving them advance notice of his Venezuela attack and sending their stocks skyrocketing by promising them control of the country's oil reserves.
This is what oligarchy looks like.

I do not want Gaston backstory, I do not need Gaston backstory, I reject Gaston backstory
he is a fully formed oaf, consuming eggs by the dozen in one of the greatest villain songs ever written, and that is all we need of him
Thought I could start the day early and be more productive but here I am, not an hour since I fired up my laptop, researching why the Artifact app from 2023 did not succeed. This is not at all what I intended to write or think about lol
We warned you that self-driving cars would just create self-driving traffic jams, and here they are.
The car industry has no solution to the shortage of space in cities. Public transit, cycling, and walking are all part of the answer, but cars are not.
Saw a YouTube video title: "Why has the world become so boring?"
I mean... has it?!?
I envy anyone who can look at the headlines, and think, what a f*cking boring world we live in.
With *wildly gestures at everything*, it's almost criminal to say we live in a time when nothing new is happening
I think with all the chaos in the world, I'm just going to start posting on LinkedIn like it's my Twitter account in 2017 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Wow the insurance agents on FB are at it again. Must you shove your insurance products down our throats after every disaster because I swear to god you folks are the worst
