Mayor O’Connell stamps it. ✅
Edge O Lake Drive has a new sidewalk. And 86 miles are still to come with Choose How You Move.

Agreed that there’s a risk to push more national politics at the local level but that already happens somewhat 🤷🏻‍♂️

Putting local issues on the ballot when turnout is higher is going to be a net positive. Nationally, federal election electorate is more racially diverse, less likely to be homeowners, and has a lower average income. Imagine those hold for Nashville but haven’t found specific stats for us.

Was it not good enough to post about?

Dude why are you gate keeping? I’ve been to Edessa but not their spinoff.

Sounds like it’s time to visit one or both and post about them.

Hey Nashville Bluesky I shouldn’t have to learn that Edessa opened a burger and pizza joint from “the everything site”

Absolute horsecrap politics-over-people from Tennessee's dysfunctional state legislature.

It will likely be quicker to get from Central to Hickory Hollow via bus lanes on Nolensville + Bell Road than to sit in M'boro Pike gridlock.

We (Nashville CHYM specifically, Democratic officials generally) love to talk about the amount of money we’re throwing at problems instead of the amount of change that money is driving

It’s why NYC’s mayor is getting such high marks: he’s focused on visible results, not funding & studies & planning

Man there was funding for planning and design of Main Street bus lanes that were shown to the public in Q2 2024.

With that as my benchmark, in late 2027 I expect that these streets will still have bike lanes in planning and design phase (if Kupin and his lobbyists haven’t killed them).

IANAL but I forsee something like this being attempted:

"Upzoning other properties in my neighborhood is a taking from me since it'll reduce the value of my dwelling unit."

Bike friendly in words prior to becoming mayor. No friendly actions from the mayor's office since he took the position.

Paid twice as much as you, collecting his paycheck, to "supervise"

I'd be livid if I was TSA

100 year old apartment building in midtown Nashville at 2301 Elliston Place. It’s got massive soffits with beautiful brackets, wide overhangs offering shade to the top floor windows and a lot of rain protection.

Soffits aren’t big enough until they require brackets. Shoutout this midtown apartment building at 2301 Elliston Pl

Congratulations Matthew Bond, your opposition to townhomes saved our neighborhood and we got this instead.

Exactly. They created a program as authorized by the state law. But they’ve not made any land eligible for the program.

There are zero parcel in Davidson County zoned RL.

I know of zero proposals to zone any parcels to RL.

I know of zero publicly available Planning recommendations to apply RL.

Now the state allows affordability bonuses and what’s our progressive council done with that capability?

Nothing.

1 month ago 2 0 1 0

Nashville is lucky that the state preempted inclusional zoning. No way that there would’ve been the same apartment housing boom.

are you suggesting now is a good time to go fare free?

isn't "expensive gas" the best time to be charging fares?

operating costs will rise with fuel prices, and the economic calculus that I and other "choice" riders will make is not likely to change between free fares and the $2/trip or $65/month.

An S-tier Metro Nashville Government apparatus would have been prepared with counter-messaging for the Boring tunnel announcements. Minimum, you should've found voices willing to hit back against the state for forcing us to deprioritize the highest-ridership bus route's bus lanes (Murfreesboro Pike)

An S-tier Metro Nashville Government apparatus would have been prepared with counter-messaging for the Boring tunnel announcements. This should have included shovels in the ground on the already-designed Main Street bus lanes, instead we got another revision and further study and delays.

An S-tier Metro Nashville Government apparatus would have been prepared with counter-messaging for the Boring tunnel announcements. Could've been as simple as reminding Nashville of our government's success in the transit referendum, touting the improved ridership and frequency of Nashville's buses.

If the drivers on Demonbreun are like the drivers on Church street, almost all private cars (including delivery drivers) will stay out of the lane, but commercial delivery truck will laugh at the tickle sticks and use the bike lane for parking.

I too consider myself a temporarily-embarrassed future real estate mogul.

The only debate was “what if there are too many apartments and buildings fall into disrepair in 30 years?”

Which was pretty easy to convince “yeah lower rent prices now are worth almost any 30-year hypothetical.”
