You didn't read her books as a teen chafing against rules. I narrated Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead decades ago and still get fan mail, so... I get it. She offers a clear vision of absolute meritocracy. Younger readers imagine they are deserving. It takes a while to understand what's lacking.
