So one thought is that. Ukraine has been killing prominent Russian military figures like that sub captain US may be concerned Iran would target prominent US military figure. Alternatively US military has become hyper secretive for secrecy sake so could just be a cultural shift

I suspect Chinese grandma and Baltic Granny would look at one another and see a comrade
The complaints that the child is to cold and or underfed are considered par for the course (the child is neither Italian grandparents standards of a well fed/warm child are just impossible to meet.)
The extremely manly men Firemen who just fawned over my adorable toddler and let him drive the truck certainly dont seem like a outlier. I suspect Ms Morgan is trolling.
Especially true in Italy where one must surrender their child in most family owned establishments to the propiters mother/grandmother father/grandfather who will entertain child and feed it for free until parents have finished their meal. This happened to my parents multiple times.
I doubt thats in stock, although there are a fair number of US academic works on China
I was more intersted to see Fahrenheit 451, Maus and a few others recently banned in the US. Dont get me wrong censorship is still in place, but its interesting to see its less pronounced than the US these days.
I think itโs a similar dynamic we see in the west with a decline of people reading gravitating towards short form video content
*to be clear literacy is almost universal but not a huge number of people read for pleasure
The market for books is still huge because the population is massive. Shenzhen has one of the largest bookstores in the world.
According to this guy who has a PhD in literature (so I doubt heโs ever satisfied). I think recreational reading is limited to folks with an academic disposition. Most of the population works long hours or has limited free time and social media is easier to engage with.
Each book store has a section of party ideology which is fairly fascinating. Chinese academic studies of the US are expansive. Sci-fi and current events on par with any Waterstones.
Chinese book stores were interesting. Nothing is really banned anymore, as one person told me because not enough people read. I also think interestingly the decline of western soft power has made Chinas soft power more appealing.
Well back from China. Itโs interesting while China is certainly not a free society it doesnโt feel like a repressive one. People seem to more or less get on. There is a great deal of pride, but also little interest it seems to go abroad in search of monsters to slay.
My sons reaction to finding out who Kanye West is.

What is the charge? Finishing a book a succulent book?

I personally think London needs a NYC 1990s broken windows style sweep but thatโs just me.
With limited resources cops are prioritizing violent offenses but letting nonviolent ones slide. The criminals know this. I know a guy who confronted a phone snatcher guy just handed it back. No violence no attention from cops.
Itโs a combination of a decade of austerity and the COVID hangover. Police need to spend hours on a case then take it to CPS. CPS has such a huge backlog they just donโt pursue non violent offenses. Even if they did prisons are overcrowded www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
The amount of money sunk into Rural development broadband infrastructure subsidies and yet any appreciation nope
Wait your toddler willingly wore pants ?
I was assured the Parthians would run out of arrows. I was assured of this. ๐

Sighโฆif anyone needs me Iโll be buried in archival research until further notice
London could do with a spot of broken windows policing. These shop lifting mugs donโt even need to be locked up put them on rat catching and pigeon poo cleaning www.londoncentric.media/p/greggs-sho...
