Good news, bad news. The only good rhongabout the herbicide drift is it hit the dandelions too. Bad news is that after a mowing the dandelions don’t care.

April 3 - they’re all twisty.
April 11 - they’re all fine as expected. Dandelions will shake off drift. My tomatoes didn’t.

Today’s critters are once again Wild Turkeys. These boys were in the neighbors corn residue with at least a couple of hens. I don’t hunt and don’t know if this a lot but the Boss seems to have a beard close to dragging the ground. Spring season opens April 18.

Today’s critters are the vanguard of a herd of Whitetail Deer coming out of the Lick Creek bottoms. There were at least six more that came out in the shadows later. I’m sad the field they’re in was recently sprayed and there’s nothing to eat but I’m worried they’ll come eat my baby trees.

Today’s critter is a Woodpecker. Nothing to see in the video but turn the volume up and hear how good a tree maybe 2-300 yards away he found to drum. Did 5-6 drums about 30 seconds apart and I managed to catch next to last one. 1/2

Remember how proud I was about my starts awhile back? Guess what? I get to start them again. A neighbor gave the annual spring dose of herbicide drift. I am so tired of this. This is the third formal complaint I’ve filed in the last few years. And i could’ve filed many more earlier.

Today’s critter is a Brown Thrasher with bonus Mockingbirds on the feeder. Don’t see thrashers often but if I do, it’s usually this time of year. They eat June/Japanese beetles, many grubs and caterpillars, grasshoppers wireworms and other no good (one g) bugs. Wish they were around more often.

Want to thank all the taxpayers out there. Just got my free money of almost $1000 for my 1/3 (22.4 A) of the Jones Bros Rd acres.

Here’s my formula for free money

1 - choose your grandparents well
2 - have your mom outlive her 3 sisters
3 - have both of your sisters pass on the farm

How about today’s asparagus harvest? Evansville goes to 86, breaks its record by 5 F and they shoot up. I’m especially proud of the volunteers in the front porch flower bed.
