That's also what I found - some left in French, which further added to the confusion, so I didn't suspect the whole page was being translated.

It messes with reality, I don't like it

That also happened to you on Reddit?

Just clued in that Reddit was automatically translating a Quebec content subreddit into English. I was so confused why people were using words and constructions that only made sense in French. Like so much of tech this should be opt-in, not opt-out after. Crisse de traduction de marde.

whenever people announce they're taking a break from bluesky, it's usually because they're astronauts experiencing a mandatory communications blackout as they re-enter earth's atmosphere. that's why they always come back in six minutes

A sad thing is when you try to imagine how it could be better, many people resist.
But, oh, it could be amazing, and I will never lose hope we can change things

Gerry Adams: This house is like Santa's Grotto. Takes half an hour 2 switch off fairy lights and assorted Yule illuminations. Feel like a grinch now.
Account called EddieIzzard's Beret: Surely you know someone who can fit a timer.

Thing about being a writer is it actually means being a thinker. So if you outsource your thinking, you lose the right to call yourself a writer.
Many of us enjoy the pleasures of thinking!

Today this kid, couldn't have been older than six, walking down the sidewalk, dragging his feet behind his father, saw me waiting on the other side of the road and pressed the button for the walk sound signal. He kept looking back to see when I could cross. Kids are sure neat.

‘This feels fragile’: how a satellite-smashing chain reaction could spiral out of control Today, the space around Earth can no longer be considered empty. More than 30,000 objects are in orbit, and that figure is rising exponentially

There really is a lot of stuff up there in orbit

Life with AI causing human brain 'fry' Heavy users of artificial intelligence report being overwhelmed by trying to keep up with and on top of the technology designed to make their lives easier.

OMG AI WORKS SO GOOD IT'S CAUSING BRAIN FRY. Ok but that concept already exists and it's called "having too much on your plate" and it's a result of re-doing all the code AI is doing because it doesn't actually work, so let's all take a breath.
