The Reds dominated their Spring Breakout game against SF, 10-1.
Chase Petty dominated on the mound. Héctor Rodriguez had four RBI through four innings.

@jtannenwald.bsky.social is working me pretty hard about getting serious over here. And I’ve always known I should.
Look for increased Reds updates. I’ll start tonight at the Spring Breakout — Reds prospects vs. SFG prospects.
Here’s some of the pretty sky God’s been painting since I got to AZ:
My good friend JT on-site in Philly (that’s his full-time site), on Miami hoops upon their arrival to whatever the arena in South Philly is called now, I can’t keep track.
☘️ Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic through five games:
Avg. possession: 67%
Shots for/against: 83–61
xG for/against: 12.63–6.03
Goals for/against: 6–11
Big chances missed: 12
Wins: 1
The performances have been significantly better than the results.
Suffice it to say I’m impressed with Buffalo.
“… and I just hit it.”
My kind of player!
The Reds select Ole Miss RHP Mason Morris. No. 81 overall.
Reds go pitcher at No. 51 overall. Aaron Watson of Trinity Christian (Florida).
Back to back HS players for Cincy.
Steele Hall, a SS out of Hewitt-Trussville (Alabama) is the Reds’ draft pick at No. 9 overall.
Terry Francona wins 2,000th game as manager, Reds go to All-Star break on a high.
Tito discussed his achievement and how Cincy is positioned for the second half: www.cincinnati.com/story/sports...
STILL
Just your routine 3-4-6 fielder's choice, ending with Spencer Torkelson covering first base without a glove.
Another postcard of a day at CBP for the Reds-Phils series finale.
Chase Burns vs. Zack Wheeler.
Fran McCaffery, formerly of Iowa hoops, just threw a strike to the Phanatic for the ceremonial first pitch prior to Reds-Phillies.
Penn MBBALL has never been more back.
@thegoalkeeper and I go wild, @sportsdoctormd.bsky.social shakes his head in disapproval (probably).
🤣🌹 #USWNT
I’m so inconsistent on BlueSky. I’m trying to be consistent.
Thank you for bearing with me.
On the latest episode of the “Big Pod Machine” podcast, Gordon and I started arguing about how the Reds should be posturing relative to playoff likelihood. And now there’s a wager that will result in one of us jumping in the Ohio River: t.co/kI3679puDG
‘That was incredible,’ Terry Francona said. Elly De La Cruz steals third base, home to score against Rockies.

Terry Francona said Noelvi Marte needs reps, not a bus ride in the Phoenix Valley to go get an at-bat. And they told him to break the door down.

Haven’t liked much of my stuff in AZ. I liked this:
'I belong.' Chase Petty shines for Reds against loaded Los Angeles Dodgers lineup

Reports coming out of Monterrey that Tigres are firing Veljko Paunović because of tensions between him and the players & he’ll be replaced by Guido Pizarro, who played the full 90 last night in a match Tigres won.
Certainly a bold gambit ahead of the next round of CCC.
“We just weren’t good enough,” Pat Noonan said of FC Cincy’s 4-1 loss to Philly Union. Also, Philly looked pretty sharp: www.cincinnati.com/story/sports...

Views from Reds spring training this past week.
Good hands and a strong, quick toss back in. I’m really proud of this effort.
A day will come when @pbrennanenq.bsky.social and I are the last two people on Earth who care about this sort of minutiae. Hopefully we'll be sat on the patio of a bar somewhere not bothering anyone else about it.
And the Reds’ spring training roster appears to be set:
