I’m back on the MHCLG blog today, talking about how we in-sourced our system for Homes for Ukraine and what we learned along the way 💙💛 mhclgdigital.blog.gov.uk/2026/04/09/f...

Ok I have seen a GOOD APRIL FOOLS JOKE in the wild.
My kids comic (Phoenix - home if @jamiesmart.bsky.social) comes in an envelope every week, we open it, had a fake cover for a soup review mag like we’d been sent the wrong thing.
Genius!
Makes a good double feature with my scouting report: youtu.be/k0hvV_ETDQ0?...

Waving hard at you all! Have a wonderful time!!!!
We move this week and Mum has taken the cats for a few days to help them be less stressed. The small human is asleep. Fuck me, the house is quiet. My nervous system doesn’t know how to cope without some small creature twatting something off of surface every ten mins or so.
Kiddo inherited a couple of Cabbage Patch Kids from me and sister, she calls them her “Hatch Patch Babies” and I want to die of the cute tbh.
A picture of Waterloo Bridge taken from Southbank just east of the bridge. In the foreground a small child bends an peers through the railings. It is sunny and the tide is halfway out on the Thames.
London spoiling us today. Nursery closed so had a day of wandering, sunshine and pizza.
Ah, I liked Episode 1 a lot. Ready for my heart to hurt a lot over the next 5 episodes.
As I sit here with my own dose of Hand Foot and Mouth I feel this in my very bones. ❤️
Just described The Walsh Sisters as my Game of Thrones to Martin, just so he understood how important it is to me that I watch it tonight.
Took the kiddo to the Regency for lunch today and then spotted the pelicans being fed. What a day.
Delighted by the new Taylor Swift video in the ICONIC local hotspot of the Whitgift Centre. DISMAYED by the creeping fear that the kiddo has Hand Foot and Mouth again…
Ballet Shoes at the National Theatre is charming and delightful and all things lovely. An absolute treat.
🚨 Exciting jobs klaxon! 🚨
We’re hiring 2x Heads of Delivery, one will be working with me in HFU 🇺🇦😁
26-27 is going to be a really exciting year for us as we mature our system and explore growth opportunities, and I need someone great by my side!

Small human likes to ask what things are about. Must admit that answering that question about listening to “the sound of music” was a struggle. “So, there was this nun” “What’s a nun” “Ummm… so, its songs about how music is nice”.
Toddler sat in bed, channelling Mrs Large and informing me that she “just wants FIVE MINUTES PEACE from you lot”, as she waves vaguely in our (her parents) direction.
Kiddo’s third trip to Champion Hill was a success. She now has a scarf and can shout “Go Dulwich Go” and “Score some goals”. They didn’t. But it was still very fun!
Modern Girl by Bleachers is a joyful and perfect song. Facts.
This chocolate is INSANE. Good work Lindt, good work.
😍😍😍
Actually not same timezone, I am bad at geography.
Are we in the same timezone? Is it very snowy (for Europe????)
😍 these are very early flights
Exactly!
Honestly always worth popping by, if you have a need for statement lighting, frames or mirrors there is almost always something there for a lot less than RRP.
Our new place is a 1960s sweetheart, parquet floors intact, needs a lot of love and colour. I am very excited about paint colours.
I bought nothing but had a delightful sneaky browse. We’re hopefully moving in the spring, so new house decorating has begun in my head, much to Martin’s dismay 😆.
The hidden clearance section of John Lewis Oxford Street is my favourite spot. £349 Ooni pizza oven reduced to £105 today. Some baby furniture, lots of light fittings, some Sandersons x JL curtains and some cushions. Its on the 3rd floor, hidden between beds and fitted kitchens. Would recommend.
