The dying pedophile in charge of the U.S. government is threatening to destroy a civilization in an unconstitutional war of aggression launched for absolutely no reason.

If Republicans in Congress cared about America, or the constitution, or anything, they’d stop this. They believe in nothing.

Destroying "a whole civilization" would fall under this heading.

Mets 9, Giants 0. Clay Holmes threw seven shutout innings. Tyrone Taylor had 4 RBI even though he didn't appear until the 5th inning. Mark Vientos went 3 for 5. The Mets are back over .500.

hugs all around, GBR beats USA 9-2

they're not mathemtically out of it but Team Casper had a bad game. They're a young team who had to play on a big stage

It usually takes *multiple* Olympics to finally break through. This was Casper's first *adult world* event! They'll be back

Looking at the new FanGraphs playoff odds...20 teams have a 30% chance to make the playoffs, all but seven teams have at least a 20% chance. This is while playing the longest regular season in sports. You simply cannot build more *competitive* balance into MLB short of halving the season.

I want to let you know about something that happened at Pizza Luce and encourage you to thank and patronize them. One of the drivers at Parkway Pizza who is a friend of mine told me tonight about something that happened at the downtown Mpls Pizza Lucé where his wife works.
A kitchen manager has been giving rides to workers afraid to take public transportation to work. Last week, two ICE SUVs pulled her over. There was a young Latina women in the car and ICE grabbed her. She is here legally, but apparently, if you are not white, you need to carry a passport or other documents with you.
Despite the fact that she is here legally, ICE flew her to their detention facility outside of El Paso, TX. Fortunately, the owner of the Pizza Lucé chain paid for a lawyer to expedite her release. Unfortunately, when ICE is forced to release people they have unlawfully detained and flown to Texas, they do not fly them back. They just dump them on the streets of El Paso. But again, fortunately, the owner of Pizza Lucé paid for a plane ticket to fly her home. So please thank the folks at Pizza Lucé if you have the chance.
Dozens of Minnesotans have not been so lucky as this woman and are trying to find their way back from Texas. Today's NY Times has a story about "Selamawit Mehari, an Eritrean single mother of three.... federal agents showed up at her apartment in St. Paul...(even though) her older daughter produced paperwork proving her mother was in the United States lawfully, the agents shackled Ms. Mehari and took her away." The story cites many like her who "were eventually released in Texas, leaving them to find their own way home."

From FB regarding Pizza Luce in Minnesota.

I like it when I can do something to help people displaced by ICE and then after I do that thing I get to eat a pizza.

It’s pretty fucking wild that the DOJ is releasing files that include accusations that the President of the United States raped underage girls, to distract from the fact that the DOJ is covering up murders of US citizens by their own government.

‘Fascism is here now’: the US athletes pushing back on Trump’s America World Series winner Sean Doolittle, Super Bowl champion Doug Baldwin and college star McKenzie Forbes have strong opinions on a troubled era

“I’m really mad so thank you for letting me vent.

Abolish ICE.

We keep us safe.”

@seandoolittle.bsky.social and other athletes opened up to us about the DHS murders and the campaign of state terror being waged in Minneapolis and beyond.

As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.

ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE.

All those people downtown yesterday, no ICE involvement, and not one incident. ICE shows up in a neighborhood and now another Minnesotan is dead. It's pretty obvious who the violent outside agitators are.

Another murder by immigration enforcement in my district.

I am absolutely horrified that federal agents are targeting and executing our residents instead of protecting them.

ICE and CBP must leave Minnesota immediately. Kristi Noem must be impeached. Enough.

Federal agents shoot a person in Minneapolis, Gov. Tim Walz says. Dozens of masked federal immigration officers are on the scene and protesters have started to gather.

God this is just truly awful news. It's hard to imagine broadcasts without him involved. I hope the quality does not suffer too much.

I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.

Freddy Peralta is a good and much-needed addition for the Mets, but let's be clear about what he is and what he isn't.

Inning-for-inning, Peralta is solid. But he's not a horse in the "traditional" sense.

Peralta threw more than six innings just twice last year. Same in 2024 and 2023.

Losing Diaz was still incredibly bad for this team. The bullpen is scary without him. You can't replace him.

3 months ago 0 0 0 0

The Mets trade for Peralta, I am not convinced is enough (yet) they are a playoff team yet, based on last yr. The pitching is still too weak. Unless they do more to boost the SP (or extend Peralta), I see giving up 2 top prospects for one year of a starter as a waste. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Screenshot of post from Senator Markey reading:
The Trump administration is lying to Congress and ignoring our constitutionally required approval for military action. This is what dictators do.

This war is not just unjustified—it is unauthorized.

Trump’s attack on Venezuela puts American lives in danger, destabilizes the region, and risks another endless war.

Congress must get answers. The American people must get answers. And Trump must be held to account for this reckless, illegal act of war.

Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation.

I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.

I connected like 8 dots in my head to get from this post to this point but: a failure to sign one single free-agent will probably never be catastrophic, but I think the Mets coming close and missing on Yamamoto is just about as franchise-altering as missing out on a FA can be, I think.
