I know what I tell moderate people when I advocate for groups who are marginalized: Meet them where they are. No, it's not the same. But what is relevant is that no group gets turned around on things by people who openly disdain them. So that's the challenge. I think it sucks, but I don't deny it.

I've been telling friends that a lot of traction could be gained simply from hewing very closely to a "we love this place, and we want to make it better for everyone" messaging. Using the framing of hero/villain, targeting something to tear down, is playing on the far right's terrain.
Of course it was. Anyone who believes the word of anyone (and I mean anyone) at Mozilla is a rube. Move on, folks. The bad guys corrupted this one.
What's so strange to think about is that multiple lawyers actually thought that this would work.
Typo: *worked* at.
As someone who would at universities for a decade and a half: I think you have a lot to offer to academia. Sadly, I don't know that it has much to offer you.
Forbes has been a clown car for years now. This is a new low, though.
With the current state of affairs, I am sad to note that it's impossible for me to intuit which company you mean.
I think the ridiculous and completely destructive bubble is the correct answer.
I've had a lot of deaths to deal with in early spring, compounding the issue with background grief.

For all its on-paper 'blue'-ness, Chicago is one of the most structurally racist places, and not just in the U.S.
Weird in the eyes of the algorithms is a badge of honor, one I am not surprised someone of your intellect and capability has earned.
The 'race' to capture a market of devices that draw near-universal derision for their customers while being banned for use at any business with even half-competent security and/or legal counsel.
They're desperate for more data on the obviously false belief that it will help their lying machine lie less.
Zoom is now a scam operation. Partner with a scammer, and you become a scammer. I don't make the rules.
Intelligent posts like this are why I love following you.
GTFO with this nonsense. Food costs are elevated because of administration taxes and their wars of choice.
Here’s this week’s’ Better Offline monologue. I discuss how AI labs’ dangerous rhetoric around AI capabilities and job loss is antagonizing society, and that de-escalation starts with Altman and Amodei talking about LLMs as normal software.
