Paying respects to Colonel John Benbow. A man trapped, victim to his time where labels of Parliamentarian or Royalist defined/changed any moment. When in reality, being human lies in heart of everything, regardless of cards we are dealt in life.

The story of Col. John Benbow has touched me greatly.
The British civil wars pulled lives in all directions, with no guarantees. Switching from Parliament to Royalist. John's bravery for both sides cost him his life—Executed on Parliamentarian army orders Shrewsbury castle 1651.

Wishing one and all, a joyful Easter. A day to be thankful for blessings, remembering no matter what clouds of this world may gather, the light of Jesus' Resurrection remains undiminished and shines through all darkness.

At The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow. Completed 1619, when the future King Charles I was just 18 years old.
Becoming an inn 50 years later, taking its name from Ostrich feather motifs—emblem of the Prince of Wales—carved into the timber.

Happy Mothers day to all out there and those remembered. The hardest challenge in the world.
Charles I had an incredibly close & playful relationship with his, Anna of Denmark. Addressing her as "Most worthy mistress" As letter he wrote at 10 years old displays

"Most worthy Mistress,
I beseech your Majesty to pardon my long silence, for the love I bear to my sister's company has made me forget my duty to you. I am sorry for your Highness' sickness, and I am far sorrier that I should be the cause of it, by being so long in coming to see you: but I hope that the good news of your recovery will make me as glad as I was sorry for your sickness, and especially because it is troublesome to you, and has deprived me of your most comfortable sight, and of many good dinners. I kiss your Majesty's hands.
Your Majesty's most humble servant,
CHARLES."
