Hello Rio! Hello wonderful ICSE community for some pre-conference exchanges!
A big ‘thank you’ for @michaeldorner.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy (and so many more) for all the great support and for organising the stickers that half of the ICSE attendees will soon find on their notebooks.
More information about our new open science policy, publisher, and dates can be found here: conf.researchr.org/home/eseiw-2...
"Wish you were beer" as advertisement for the conference in Munich, designed by Michael Dorner.
Stefan Wagner and I, together with many wonderful colleagues from the SE community, are very much looking forward to be welcoming to the Empirical Software Engineering International Week, to be held directly after Oktoberfest in Munich.
Congratulations to Dr. Xingru Chen for successfully defending your thesis on improving and characterizing participatory reuse!

Best blueberry juice on the planet
Hello University of Helsinki! If it weren't for the productive days and great company, the blueberry juice alone would have been reason enough to come. Some even say that this juice is so successful that they've built an entire airline around it. 😅

Northern lights reaching Karlskrona ❤️💚
Is that a call for submissions? :)
Research funding calls that drain the research community. Broad calls with little funding likely cost the research community than the funding it provides. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-025-04060-x
A heartfelt thank you also to Felix Dobslaw for this excellent opposition, and to Emma Söderberg, Burak Turhan, and Brian Fitzgerald for joining the grading committee and fostering such engaging discussions. Thank you!
Congratulations Dr. Michael Dorner (@michaeldorner.mastodon.social.ap.brid.gy) for successfully defending your PhD on “Code Review as a Communication Network”. It was an honour supporting you as an advisor and I learnt a lot from you. SERL Sweden will miss you!
