This series blew my mind, and put Tradd Moore on my radar.
Such a unique talent.

Had some Thoughts™ about card games, decks, draws, and such while walking to the store, so gonna ramble a bit, mostly in relation to a thing I know I need to balance in my #mechbuilderTTRPG (but have handled entirely differently in the #deckbuilderTTRPG). Slow rambling 🧵
In AD&D1e undead like vampires and wights drain levels
In Bhakashal ALL undead drain STR on a successful strike, equivalent to their HD. So low level undead like skeletons get back some of their dread
If STR reduces below 3, you can’t move, 0 or less = unconscious
Scary stuff kids!

Cover of the Starry Knight Press supplement "SVV2 Villein's Vault" The Barrach Guild Hall", which features a pair of adventurers sitting in a tavern sloshing mugs of ale, in front of a sign on the wall that reads: "Adventurers Wanted".
I've just released "Villein’s Vault: The Barrach Guild Hall"!

Friends, our Dan Dare graphic novel Kickstarter campaign is just 40 hours from ending. It would be incredible if you could help us one last time by reposting our Kickstarter post it would really help us cross the finish line in style!
I FINALLY backed @marclaming.bsky.social's and @alexdecampi.bsky.social's Dan Dare graphic novel on @kickstarter.com - check it out, friends! Just 39 hours left to pledge! www.kickstarter.com/projects/798...
We have under 48 hours to go. Please consider backing this passion project - re-introducing Dan Dare and space adventure for today's audiences before the campaign ends!
Sometimes the best way to show off the game is to show how a session for newcomers would work, it's like a tournament game (I could easily run this at a tournament), a fictionalization doesn't show the mechanics, but it gives the flavor and shows the setting quite well.
Give it a read!
I periodically do one shots I offer the client the option for a short fictionalization of their adventure. Here is an old blog post with one of those one-shot fictionalizations. It's a window into Bhakashal.

The game has many lessons to teach about the consequences of violence. And, to be fair, when they choose violence I want a robust, dynamic and fun system to handle it.
If you are going to fight it should be spectacular!
You should be good then!

Corum stories
50 pages in and I’m having trouble putting it down.
Moorcock is a dreamweaver.
Brilliant stuff.
And so much gameable content.
You want ideas for your game?

Small creators can sometimes pass unnoticed and get away with more, so if you are lucky none of this may matter and you can create whatever you want without restrictions.
I hope it works out for you
There are really two possible responses to this, one is to do your best to qualify and explain that you aren’t promoting ideas, just using them to create a compelling game, the other is to ignore it all and just make what you want. For what it’s worth I’ve landed on the latter option
I strongly dislike the way people treat media today. I agree, it does seem puritan, and unhealthy. But that’s where we are at as a society. My advice was based on what I’ve seen on socials, people will interpret your work based on their perception of your identity and beliefs.
An old blog post that asks the age old question, is D&D a game about violence?
The answer may shock you!!

Starlog magazine was created by Kerry O’Quinn and Norman Jacobs in 1976 with an early focus on Star Trek and Space 1999 until of course Star Wars came along the following year. It was published until 2009.

As it happens I have ADHD and RPGs work for me if I’m running them, playing is harder.
Latest read (audio), Ethan Frome (1911) by Edith Wharton; a doomed love triangle set in snowy New England, as Ethan Frome falls in love with a relation of his joyless wife.
I love this more now than decades ago. A tonic to read a woman writer sympathizing with her male character.
