I hate this sense that we're allowing the goal posts to be moved in so many aspects of political and public life, by the lowest, most idiotic, and most criminal people. It's like we just have to accept that the most powerful nation on earth is run by a pedophilic murderer. Or in Alberta's case.../1

Local man says no other politician listens to the people and backtracks as fast as he does after getting caught.
Bouchard should seriously get an assist on the #Ducks second goal. 🤣
Forgot how good this was!!
This is very good

My goverments bin so busy pertecting Ontario we axidentally bought a privutt jet but I am for the people and I like to jump in my truck and go talk to regular folks so I desided I don't need a jet and now that we got caught with it we will sell it for parts like Ontario.

After watching his scrum, he clearly has no public speaking skills. He will need a script, and we know who will write it for him.
The @bluejays.com Hoffman gets his DFA tomorrow.

Smith’s Gerrymandering a Classic Sign of Authoritarian Gov't
Political scientist @DuaneBratt says if @ABDanielleSmith follows through with electoral boundary plan, it's a 5-alarm crisis for Alberta democracy.

The playbook isn't even a secret anymore, it’s being run in broad daylight. We’re seeing new levels of authoritarianism every single day, and this gerrymandering is top-tier corruption. Absolute power-grab. 🚩 #ableg #abpoli

Is anyone surprised? The UCP are just so untrustworthy...I can't believe anybody voted for such a horrible horrible party... I guess that's why some people never voted at all which made it possible for them to get a majority 😠
This is what #REPUBLICANS tried to pull....and it is NOT #DEMOCRATIC. Its called "gerrymandering".

This story is a microcosm of what the UCP has become under Premier Danielle Smith's regime. @matthewblack.ca deserves the public's thanks for pursuing records that the UCP govt had absolutely no legal reason to withhold. Evidence of Smith's growing authoritarianism is on full display here.
Can't really overstate how bad this is for Albertans. #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli
Back to the drawing board! UCP scrapping Alberta boundaries commission and appointing MLA committee to draw new electoral map open.substack.com/pub/davebert...
Correctly, Mr. Mason pulls no punches for petulant peewee piffleswipe Pierre Poilievre.

This is a dangerous step away from Democracy in a blatantly open attempt to gerrymander the AB electoral map.
This move should concern every Albertan, regardless of their political preferences.

I’m so friggin tired of speaking up. Letters, phone calls, protests; none of it seems to matter. Getting a first hand lesson in the creep of fascism here in Alberta. I know that we have voices as voters but it’s beginning to feel like not enough Albertans give a shit to save this place.
If the UCP goes forward with this plan to gerrymander Alberta's electoral boundaries, Albertans of all partisan persuasions will be called upon to push back. And hard.

The latest UCP gimmick (today) to undermine the legitimacy of the electoral commission process in AB confirms that the only way to bring them into line is through the intervention of the Courts.
That's why Premier Smith is doing her level best to undermine the Courts.

I find that Jeff & I are in total agreement … again.

Frankly … If your political party needs to cheat to win elections by gerrymandering boundaries, and you are OK with that, then you need to take a long hard look in the mirror and question your own ethics and values.
If you need a hill on which to die, “election integrity” is one!
They are literally making it up as they go along. When they don't like the outcome, the Smith government rigs the process.
It's a worrisome pattern for those who care about procedural fairness and institutional forebearance.
You know, real conservatives.
First, their health minister used confidential info to intimidate a critic. Then another accessed a recall proponent's voting records. Now another wants to know what Albertans are reading in public libraries.
When will UCP libertarians stand up?
www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art...
This is a major line being crossed by Alberta's UCP government. Throwing out the work of an independent boundaries committee is authoritarian and extremely anti-democratic.
