Rewatching #Superman (2025) again and just realised that the "Justice Gang" only show up to deal with the Kaiju, which has clearly been causing trouble for a while, after the LordTech building gets damaged. I'm sure others have noticed this before, but it certainly says something about priorities.

My toxic author trait:
Wanting every world I develop to have the depth of lore of Dark Souls/Bloodborne/Elden Ring ...
Which would maybe be more attainable if my Fixations didn't change every few months, dragging me away from those worlds ππ
#AuthorSky #WriterSky
I'm training myself to accept this in my own writing, but it's not easy. I've been a "one draft, then edit" author for a while, but I think it's time to grow into a "proper" author with multiple drafts π
I am informed there is a Book Marketing "Expert" claiming they have helped me sell my books. This is a lie. If any of these "experts" claim me as a client, do not believe a word they say and run away from them before they steal your money.
Quit Threads because of the growing toxicity.
Instagram is becoming decidedly anti-small creator.
Too introverted to use BlueSky effectively ...
I don't know what to do.

Thanks for including my novella! ππ»

@damascusundead.bsky.social reviews Fridge Goop by @alanakdrex.bsky.social β¬
"Fridge Goop makes for a fast, lively read. With its playful β80βs setting, unabashed razor wit and gloriously glooptastic indulgence in bloody food preparation"

That sounds along the lines of what I mean.
I should probably clarify that part of why I'm asking is because that's the approach I intend to take with my main fantasy project, and I want to know whether there's a precedent for that kind of thing.
Does anyone know of any #fantasy authors who have multiple series set in the same world but where they aren't specifically tied to each other aside from being in the same world?
If that makes sense. Only example I can think of is the Forgotten Realms.

Finished reading "The Reddening" last night.
4.5 stars. Loved it until the ending, which felt like a big stumble that lost momentum and went in an unsatisfying direction.
Reading "The Troop" now.

Background shows a gas lamp. Mock up of a book cover with a silhouette of a woman inside a woman's head. Shadows of Cathedral Lane: A Detective Sandford Mystery by MG Mason In one night, Nikki Sandford was dumped (something that had her questioning her sexuality once more) and a dead man begged her to solve the mystery of his death. Then an evil entity started demanding she "send him back"

Finally read Frankenstein for the first time a few weeks ago, and wow. I understand why it's endured in the public consciousness.
I've got this on my seemingly endless TBR. Glad it seems to be a good one, hopefully I'll enjoy it whenever fate puts it next on the list.

Yes, the normality adds to the relatability ... until it all gets torn apart (figuratively and/or literally).
Anything eldritch is a big YES for me.
Oh yes, absolutely love supernatural elements in horror ... but also when they get subverted (well) and the supernatural is revealed as a trick.
There is an artistry to a well done jumpscare. I think we overcorrected from pointless jumpscares to no jumpscares ππ
What's a #Horror trope you can't get enough of?
I love a small town or village. For me, it often adds plausibility to a story β there are countless villages and towns we don't know about until we hear a story. It makes the horror feel like something that may have happened in a real obscure place.
Always continue on ππ» I think of it as "I will definitely finish these projects ... eventually" π
Born to write myriad epic fantasy sagas, eldritch tales, and superhero adventures.
Forced to bow before our corporate overlords.
Also, born with neurodivergence that makes me bounce between projects and fixations, leaving many of them unfinished for months or even years before I continue them π
It's a shame this didn't get any entries here, but just to confirm that the giveaway is now closed.
This creator is fervently anti-GenAI. All my content is 100% organic, homegrown creativity. If your product is made with AI (that includes book covers) I will not buy or promote it.
These book covers (cover of "Beyond Dimensional Veils" and "Madness in Manhattan Mine") are GenAI. I signed a contract with this publisher before I knew that they use GenAI. It is one of my great regrets, but unfortunately I can't afford to cancel the contract. I do not endorse these covers, and would rather give away free ebooks of these books than promote these unethical business practices.
A post just to make my stance on GenAI abundantly clear. I oppose its use in all creative pursuits. I do not use it, and will not support products or authors that use it.

I'm sure I can't be the only author who finds the concept of 2nd drafts difficult.
I want to write perfection on the first go round. It takes so long to do that, I don't want to go through the whole process a second time!

Ever create a world (or a concept for a world) in your head but then not know the story that takes place in that world β and how are you supposed to present that world to others without a story?
I'm experiencing that with a few of my ideas.
