It's a similar case to the Pie-IX BRT where the TSP is still ineffective, and the average speed is 16 km/h. But 13 km/h, that's like the surface bus. More fighting is needed !!!

The degree to which PSAs make jokes out of victim-blaming away one of the country's worst public health crises is not great!
Why is there no messaging about eye contact between driver and pedestrian, as well as sending a message about tints of glass that prevent such eye contact. Or, how about dark paint on vehicles and headlights that aren't on at night. Safety goes both ways.

Google Maps & Apple Maps often underestimate the travel time for cars because it doesn't consider stopping at stop signs, traffic lights, and sometimes calculate at a higher than maximum posted speed limit. On top of that it overestimates travel time for bike and transit.
The worst part is that this shoots themselves in the foot when TSP entres the room.

On s'étonne que les pistes soient déneigées avant les trottoirs, mais jamais que la route le soit avant les voies actives. On cite les urgences, en ignorant le danger pour ceux forcés d'aller dans la voie véhiculaire car la piste cyclable et trottoir sont enneigées. REV Berri, proche de Crémazie.

I believe that the issue is the high school system versus CEGEP. In fact, about 70% of students from private high schools go to university, versus 10 % from public high schools. The division starts at 6th grade, not when a student starts CEGEP. This is what needs to be fixed.
To avoid this catch 22, the bus lane shortly ends before the intersection, so that the bus can cross straight at the same time as other traffic.
Since a bus signal is obligatory. The standards do not allow a bus to go straight at the same time as other general traffic to go straight, if the bus lane is situated in the extreme right. Therefore this would have severely limit the time that buses can cross. (2)
So I looked into it, and I was a little wrong. It’s only allowed if the bus basically has its own phase. A bus traffic signal are mandatory if the bus lane continues until the intersection. (1)
I know, it’s really sad. We really design to let car drivers be reckless, while all other users must use caution. The people at the MTMD are still very car centric.

It’s because the standards do not allow this if there is a sidewalk because then pedestrians won’t be visible from right turning vehicles if the reserved lane continues until the stop line.

I can confirm that the MTMD does not allow this, because if the bus lane continues all the way into the intersection, it would block visibility of the crosswalk and pedestrians crossing would not be visible if a vehicle turns right.
