I haven't had a long enough breath to talk about how AI is ruining the open web. API after API I used to use is closing - literally because paying the $$$ required to feed these impersonation machines is prohibitive.
I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

Controversial but - students *perceive* they have been failed when what has happened is they have failed to understand information retrieval is a skill requiring effort. I don't believe a zero friction experience is realistic or desirable in learning, actually.

I also think a lot about what it does to isolate/insulate people from society, especially when I see people out and about grocery shopping etc with headphones on. I get that people can be annoying, but part of being in a society is engaging with it, even passively.
a hill I will die on is that when we talk about what tech does to our psychic and interior lives, the need to permanently soundtrack every moment of the day and the resulting discomfort with silence should be on par with questions around screen time
