When The Running Man becomes a documentary of prison in the future.... πŸ™„

For some reason our right-parties love to import a culture war, slightly tweak it, flog it, and toss it aside for the next one. It can be exhausting

You're right. It's still super gross to see a government account - the president's no less! - speak in such religious terms

Church & state separation means nothing. America rightly picks on others for being theocracies. Pot is meeting kettle here

They've been pretty good here in Aus. Our compulsory and preferential voting also helps - it lessens the spoiler aspect of a third party on the polls, and tends to help us vote in closer-to-centre parties (close compared to some of our minor parties anyway)

It’s even more partridge than partridge.

Australian here.... Totally get where you're coming from on that one

The fact they're even using a tool for this sort of chat that's clearly on a personal device, with no isolation from their personal data, is incredibly bad.

Any half-way decent company with >20 employees does better without even trying. They should be embarrassed, but there's zero shame these days

Bengal cat sitting on a patio table in front of a closed shade cloth

KitKat hanging out in her spot, hoping for something interesting to walk through the backyard. The shade cloth closing in the patio is like a giant TV screen of the outside world activity for her.

Trump saying "the fact is..." is amazing chutzpah

This breeds apathy, and in a two party system with no preferential or compulsory voting, you just get the GOP winning.
This will be skewed by some to say "GOP is favoured" but it doesn't mean that at all

Gotta run those SVGA drivers in your autoexec.bat

My carrot is that I can debug the app without using a debugger.

Also, I use examples where there's an escalation from support to dev concerning a bug of some sort. As soon as we're off asking support to gather data X or Y to determine code path, that's something that should be in the logs

My SwiftKey has learned I capitalise Windows more often than not. Not quite as big a shift as ARM though

Congratulations. It must be hard to see that specific review, but it does sound unwarranted and almost, as you say, like it's from another book.

Ill keep an eye out for it and add it to a wish list. Thanks!

It must be exhausting for the devotees of this administration to have so many conspiracies and enemies to track, jumping at shadows in every room.
They've done performative "own the libs" stuff for ages, which has harmed, but we're now seeing them burn the world for kicks
It's disheartening

Their insecurity has doomed a whole country of people and increased danger in the world. So small-minded. This is so far beyond the childish "own the libs" mentality. Didn't think it'd come to this, but here we are.

It shows how Trump is insecure, expecting sycophants around him. Just awful to see,and sad that his supporters idolise the behaviour

Never, because what if I get a call from someone one day saying "hey, I have device X and am wondering how to get this old thing off it?". To that person, I will be seen forever as a benevolent God.

That, and I like hoarding crap

Oh this is unpleasant viewing. Trump just can't help himself.

What effect would this have on services like @haveibeenpwned.com ?
I feel I'd like to be able to know if my data was in the breach list. It'd need my email address of course, and there's no password involved (unless there's a patient portal?), but I *hope* this doesn't silence a useful service

Time poor me is here to relax. No grinding. Ability to pause cutscenes. Give me frequent save points. Death doesn't take me back heaps. I'd like a map. Indicate stuff I can interact with.

The new Indiana Jones was *perfect* for this.

That's a huge amount of absolutely undeserved benefit there... I knew the administration would be awful - just look at last time... But they've doubled-down harder than I think any of us could have imagined.
They're doing what they said, and then some. Quiet parts on bullhorn.

Sadly evokes this... (I'm an Aussie, but unfortunately rotten US leadership affects us here too)

Not too much crafting... Count me in. I used to like complex games when I was younger, but now I have a complex busy job so I just want to *relax* and *enjoy* my game time. Give me an easier mode even - that's accessible imho.
Shall finish Indy and then try this.
Thanks

"every other.. I know"

Cool selection bias in the sample there.

Lots of "not worth trying..." in the replies here.
That's a bit defeatist imho. By having this reasonable legislation to point at, and the GOP choosing to not implement or even hear it, at least Dems can say they have a good plan and can use that as a cudgel.

Doing nothing just cedes the ground
