Today I voted no confidence in the government because this is about so much more than fuel price.
The people coming to my office, the working people, are just surviving, from week to week, bill to bill.
Government must start listening and start delivering for workers and their families.

It’s not just about fuel prices.
Another day of high fuel prices and protests and another day of inaction from government. We need see engagement on this by Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael & Independents.
Ordinary, hardworking people are looking for a lifeline from government to keep their jobs.
Workers need solutions NOW.
Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael did the bare minimum to help struggling households with the high price of fuel. That little effort is now being eroded with prices increasing to €2.20 and higher in some areas.
Government must show up for workers and act now.

@labour.ie are proud to stand side by side with our SNAs, who do so much for our communities.
I am delighted to have signed the pledge supporting the Alternative Circular by the #SaveOurSNAs campaign.
SNAs deserve guaranteed job security.

Remote working costs nothing for government to implement, can easily reduce traffic congestion and save workers who can work from home time and money.
Why wouldn’t Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael want to help commuters stuck in traffic?

No such thing as a free education under FF and FG.
Parents have seen exam fees reintroduced, and now price hikes in school transport fees. The Minister for Education must explain the ongoing price increases for education, at a time when families are already experiencing immense financial pressure.
What part of free education is free?
Exam fees. Voluntary contributions. School uniforms. These school costs now have parents at breaking point.
🔴 Abolish exam fees and voluntary contributions
🔴 Make school transport free
🔴 Make the Back to School Clothing Allowance universal and increase it
Garda numbers across Kildare South have remained the same since 2020, despite repeated PR attempts by FF/FG to convey a different story.
We need to see more gardaí back on our streets and we need to see actual increases across Kildare.

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael did not show up for workers today.
We need to give workers a real right to remote work. This will help in bringing down the costs for those that can work remotely, and it costs government nothing.

✅ Put a cap on fuel price hikes to end price gouging
Happy International Women’s Day!
We still have so much more to do to make Ireland an equal playing field for women on work, caregiving, sport and in politics. On International Women‘s Day, I send my support and commitment to addressing these issues. #InternationalWomensDay
The story reported today of a worker from Rathangan, Kildare who had to leave her job in Dublin due to the unbearable commute will resonate with thousands of workers across Kildare and the wider country.
Labour have a plan to end the commuter chaos. Government don’t.

Family carers are working 24/7, and for some they simply don’t have the time to get to a polling station. That’s why I‘m bringing forward a Bill to give carers the right to a postal vote.
By extending postal votes to carers, we can ensure they have their voices heard on polling day.
When over 5,000 children are homeless in Ireland, it is no longer a failure of policy, it is a failure of political will.
Government must radically change course now.
We need a caring Republic, not one that puts developers before a child trapped in homeless accommodation.
