Myth: these bills are police transparency bills
Fact: They are not. 1-B and 175-B do not ask the NYPD to outline current practices/policies related to how/when they are deployed to houses of worship/educational facilities, but rather call on the NYPD to advance a single response: security perimeters

Myth: we have buffer zones at abortion clinics.
Fact: We don't. Our city + state clinic access laws, Admin Code 10-1003 and Penal Law 240.70-240.73, are narrow and targeted. They forbid a specific set of activities within 15ft of clinics. Neither involve buffer zones restricting all forms of speech.

Myth: these bills combat antisemitism
Fact: these bills do not combat any form of hate — they fail to address the root causes of hate-motivated incidents + do not rely on evidence-based studies or programs. JFREJ has evidence-based alternatives to the bills — the city just needs to implement them.

Demand NY Invest in Its Abortion Funds and Clinics Post-Roe, our abortion care infrastructure has already been facing extreme pressure with long wait-times, insufficient staff, and closing clinics. If NY wants to remain an 'access state' we must demand our city and state lawmakers use state resources and invest in clinics and abortion funds. One way the NYS Government can do this is by increasing allocations to the Reproductive Freedom and Equity Program, which supports providers and funds, and increasing Medicaid Reimbursement Rates in their budget.

4) Demand NY invests in our abortion funds and clinics!

The state legislature can fund for the Reroductive Freedom and Equity Program (sponsored by @votejgr.bsky.social) which provides state funding directly to the funds and providers that are experiencing unprecedented demand.
