You should've started it with, "This one goes out to all the Anti-Bedtime Leftists!"

Then we'd know what's up, ya know what I'm sayin'?
Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

The standards for other creative mediums have evolved & widened over time.
Videogames were invented in my lifetime. They're measured against sports, games, pinball, gambling, etc. as to how, "fun," they are & how much $ they generate. As the medium matures, artistry grows.

Sure, but that's also just how art works.
What percentage of music released in a year is critically recognized? Films? If we count self-publishing, most poetry, fan fiction & self-help books aren't winning any prizes.

w/r/t games, "quality" often rests on the balance btwn interactivity & narrative

Download the latest indie games itch.io is a simple way to find, download and distribute indie games online. Whether you're a developer looking to upload your game or just someone looking for something new to play itch.io has you co...

I'd say itch.io kinda' shows there are a lot more than 10. They're definitely not all profitable, but I'd wager the Venn diagram between profitability & artistic merit has a high ratio of non-AAA games.

Also, yes, that's why he's riding that bison - to remind everyone of their, "dominance," of the Prairies, aka the genocide they did.

Also why he's named with a Cree word, "pemmican."

It's naked triumphalism dressed up as a cheerful cuddly mascot to brainwash the kids.

I rarely talk about it - I'm far away & no one here cares, but boy, do I have stories to tell about growing up Black in Western Canada.

Luckily I was raised to reject the propaganda, but let me tell you there's a STRONG myth-pushing engine on the Prairie. The story of my hometown's name alone...

The religious stuff was mainly the sort of thing they used on the rubes - aka the Mounties and my ancestors.

Reality is, the Crown promised poor white folks they'd get cheap land to farm & the North-West Mounted Police would control all of those pesky, "Indians." It didn't take much convincing.

Canada was fully a British dominion in 1872.
All of the religious justifications were pre-baked into the sovereign: Lux Aeterna, Dei Gratia, etc.

As for the rest, aristocrats & tycoons justified it using the War of 1812 & Homestead Act. As in, they were preventing the U.S. from annexing the West.

Cartoon image of a VERY blonde bearded man, dressed in buckskin, holding a rifle in one hand & cowboy hat in the other, while riding a Canadian bison. Text on the picture says, "Pemmican Pete and his buffalo."

"Western Canada" works. The specific enabling legislation was called the, "Dominion Lands Act," & was pretty much a copy-paste of the U.S. Homestead Act.

For the real euphemisms, "Pioneer spirit," "homesteading," "prairie grit," "hardy settlers." Westerners have a lot of self-serving names for it.

I doubt she knows many women who aren't exactly like her.

I'm a single childless woman who's never, for even an instant, had a, "maternal instinct." That's precisely why I never had children.

Well, unless we're counting non-human animals.

"He means well, but our personalities clash sometimes," = he's an obnoxious, bloviating mansplainer & I wish he'd shut the hell up & let me work.

I hate cooked peas, so I can agree insofar as nearly every samosa I've ever had was full of gahdamn peas.

I'll admit that when I left Saskatchewan a long time ago, I didn't miss app. 75% of the recipes that were most common.

The Canadian half of my family are Scots-English - put that cuisine together with all of the Eastern European dishes & Southern SK = take farm fresh food & boil until bland.

Also Ukrainians.

Most of the actually tasty cabbage rolls I had as a kid in SK were Ukrainian. The German ones were too cabbage-y, if that makes sense.

Tim Cook donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration.

He fawned over Trump and gifted him a 24-karat gold plaque (as Apple lobbied for tariff exemptions).

Apple donated to Trump’s White House ballroom.

And it removed ICE tracking apps from its stores following a demand from the DOJ.

Remember this.

What role in your system do you see for things like, say:

- canvassing aka door knocking
- campaign ads
- policy platforms
- candidate surveys
- polling
- phone banking

Isn't, "campaigning," a process for candidates to convince us to vote for them? Why would I surrender my leverage in advance?

He also completely ignores patriarchy as the other HUGE blind spot & stumbling block for liberatory movements in this country.

He keeps having it pointed out to him & he keeps apologizing, then ignoring it again.

Who among us hasn't softly chuckled at even the mere mention of an adult man nurturing a child? Men raising babies? Preposterous!
