@infinata.bsky.social @holocronkeeper.bsky.social When TCW came out, the pre-2008 stories had to be shifted. I'm just wondering where the "4 weeks" decision for Anakin's knighting came from?

It couldn't be 30 months anymore but what decided the short time frame that Karen Miller used in Wild Space?

4 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

But when exactly did that happen? That's where I seem to be missing information. Was it announced in Insider? The old forums?

I don't care too much about when it was decided *internally* but instead when the public was "informed" so to speak.

In trying to research Star Wars EU history, I'm finding a wall in regards to S-Canon. From what I gathered, the pre-1991 comics and novels were ignored and treated as non-canon.

Eventually, however, they were folded into continuity as S-Canon.

Which timeline are you referring to?

5 months ago 0 0 0 0

@infinata.bsky.social In the Star Wars ERC, under the entry for Clone Wars Gambit, you write that production notes for ROTS placed the Outer Rim Sieges as beginning six months before the end of the Clone Wars.

Does that hold true for canon?

What book is this? Star Wars related or some other franchise?

5 months ago 0 0 1 0

They did make that. Multiple times, in fact.

Infinities: The Empire Strikes Back was a "what if?" comic series where Luke dies of hypothermia after escaping from the Wampa Cave.

There's also the Battle of Endor DLC of The Force Unleashed II where Leia is the Jedi after Luke fell on Hoth.

Is it like BBY/ABY where it starts exactly X years before/after?

Ex. 22 BBY begins exactly 22.0 years before Yavin and ends 21.01 years before, etc.

So 37 BSI begins exactly 37.0 years before the Hosnian destruction and ends right before 36.0 years.

For another question, Leia's page mentions her Rite of passage being 37 BSI and the mission to Lothal being 36 BSI. I assume that the Rite of Passage is in Leia, PoA, but I could be wrong.

If I'm right though, how exactly are the BSI years separated?

So the .5 might be more of a rounding than actually an exact half a year?

I ask because Legends actually had something similar with the Rogue Squadron novel being 6.5 ABY which allowed Nathan Butler to set a date in the Essential Atlas for the novel exactly 6.5 years after Ep4.

@infinata.bsky.social According to your TROS VD, the pilot episode of Resistance is set at 0.5 BSI. I do appreciate the exact decimal for this thing.

Meanwhile, the Battle of Batuu is 0.5 ASI.

Both events are set, per Timelines, in 34 ABY. Would this then mean that TFA is technically 34.5 ABY?

Thank you for that insight. I always appreciate these behind-the-scenes looks at the minor things many may not think about.

In addition, why was his age changed from 20 to 19 in Canon? Small change, but just something I'm curious about. Especially since the Absolutely Everything You Need to Know book (both 2015 and 2017 versions) place Anakin's age at 20 during the film.

@infinata.bsky.social Hi Pablo. Considering your part in Legends/EU lore in the early 2000s, I was hoping you could help me with this.

Where did Anakin being 20 during AOTC come from? It was in the novelization but was that a Lucas thing (like Darth Bane in the TPM novelization) or something else?

6 months ago 1 0 1 0

I believe the story is that that line was added to the crawl without Story Group knowledge. I think I remember reading that somewhere.

*22 BBY

Yeah, I'm always a publication-order first-time believer. I've got a complete Legends and Canon hardcover collection and it's in publication order.

Never get why people are so adamant to watch or read everything in chronological order their first time.

Saw this post and realized it has been several hours since I last drank water.

I've now had a glass to drink.

If it's your first time, I very much disagree. Each Metal Gear game builds on the previous one. Especially in terms of gameplay design.

Not to mention, newer games, even prequels, can contain spoilers for the older games that are later in the timeline. Or there are jokes that just don't make sense.

This is something I'm glad was changed. 0 BBY never made sense. Even with your old HoloNet article dates, 0 BBY didn't work.

AOTC was 13:5:16. That's about 21.8 BBY but in the year 22 BBY.

Your dates and Nathan Butler's dates for the Atlas kinda cemented that 0 BBY didn't work.

The construction wasn't the hard part. It was the functionality of the super laser that took the longest amount of time. By the end of ROTS, the frame of the Death Star was complete.

They just needed Galen's expertise for the weapon. Once that was done, a second Death Star was easy.

10 months ago 0 0 0 0

Uh, no.

1. Bail Organa adopted Leia during Episode III. That was 19 BBY (19 years before A New Hope). Andor S2 is long after that.

2. Luke hasn't even met Han or Leia. How could he be training with Yoda right now? The Death Star would already be destroyed. He doesn't meet Yoda until 3 ABY.

10 months ago 0 0 1 0

That sounds plausible. I'll need to read that material when crafting a timeline. It just seems like too large a gap.

I think Season 2 might be worse, though, with Leia's involvement in Rebels coming after she turns 16 and then the rest of that season.

It's possible. It just seems unlikely.

YES! This right here! It's my biggest issue with the canon timeline. 19 BBY is so full before ROTS happens. It makes no sense how you go from "Out of Darkness" to "Empire Day". That'd be several months in-universe. Not to mention Leia's involvement in S3.

I always though that Yavin happened on May 25, which would be 7977.145, but maybe this isn't the case anymore.

I love seeing @infinata.bsky.social's influence on Star Wars dates. He started with GrS Palpatine b-day being Ian McDiarmid's up to now Mace Windu being Sam Jackson's in CRC.

Though, with this, you have Mace born on 7905.355 and Clem Andor dying on 7959.318. That sets Yavin to between 318 and 355.

They did. The Siege of Mandalore includes dialogue from Windu directly from Episode 3 that Carson re-did. You might have been watching a poorly-cut-together copy.

The only part that is only in ROTS is Windu talking to Anakin.

Actually, it's not during that episode but rather between 142 and 143. 142 shows them heading out in teams.

Then there are the two prequel manga chapters, showing the lead-up to the movie followed by the movie itself. The movie ends in the morning. Then 143 begins later that night.

A lot of people make this mistake, but the movie actually takes place between Seasons 5 and 6 in that gap between the Kurogiri reveal and the War.

The prequel episode occurs during the Endeavor Agency arc, but the movie itself happens after the arc.
