That’s how it SHOULD happen! It’s a hobby, so not a big deal, but a lot of people seem to get ’into it’ because it’s the thing. Having a collection should be something that comes from loving music (in my mind) not from loving collections 🤷‍♂️

And it all started so the music industry could pull back profits lost to streaming - people didn’t baulk at £25 records so went up further - then the used market became wrapped up too. eBay LISTED prices not SOLD warped it, Discogs too and charity shops (no issue with this) all sent prices crazy.

It’s mental innit. Honestly, people who’ve bought turntables from me over the past 5 years (ish) with NO collection to begin with absolutely astound me. Especially the ones who buy a £99 deck and £30 a pop records. I get that it’s ’the thing’ but unless you’ve got a few already? Mental to me.
