That's a goddamn good point and I'm mad it didn't cross my mind. More mad at myself than I want to admit.

I spent a year living in a black mold infested basement suite paying 1500 bucks a month because this place has no housing

It has far better fire safety management than most of the illegal suites in this city

Evo seems to be the bike share standard BC municipalities are moving towards, it's nice to be able to use one account and app across the province and makes the subscription more worthwhile. Especially since it's a BC non-profit.

Unfreeze Transit! The BCNDP have frozen transit funding. Victoria is already cutting service on overcrowded routes, and that means fewer, fuller busses. Help us tell the province: transit is an essential service and ne...

BC Ferries suggests people take public transit and walk on as they deal with mechanical issues this long weekend. Unfortunately, the BC NDP cut BC Transit funding which was mostly taken from their extra hours budget, so they can't run extra buses to make up for the increased walk on passengers. #yyj

Canadians support high-speed rail.

A March 2026 survey from Abacus Data found 62% support for building it, versus 18% opposition.

Why these Brisbane bus routes are still not all that popular, despite being almost free Some bus routes have become even more packed after the introduction of 50¢ fares, but others are not getting the love. The answer lies in the suburbs.

Another very good example of how woefully inadequate service is a much more important determinant than bargain basement fares in whether people will switch to PT from driving, especially when paired with ubiquitous underpricing of car-based transport.

@victoria.ca drivers seem to be confused by the kings crossing at Blanchard, they think they can drive through it on a red if it's clear, this doesn't seem right

Google is now screwing with the 10 blue links in traditional search and rewriting headlines - including ours - to be the worst kind of slop. This sucks so bad www.theverge.com/tech/896490/...

I do my best to live a car free lifestyle on the peninsula, God knows I'd love to move into town, but it's really hard to advocate urbanist ideals when I see transit service getting cut left and right.

1 month ago 2 0 3 0

This conversation is only even happening because our politicians refuse to properly fund transit.

Our municipal politicians do not even want to put up the minimum required budget to maintain existing service. Our provincial politicians chose to cut service hours outright.

As someone who relies on the 72 to get downtown this is honestly making me consider getting a car instead, I guess 10+ minutes for the thousands of us who rely on the 72 is a price people in the core & west shore are willing to pay for a one seat ride to the airport, hope you like more congestion

It's really cool that the provincial government maintains a free font that displays all Indigenous characters used across BC.

Slightly less cool that it only comes in three weights for some reason, all I want for Christmas is BC Sans Semibold
