That's a goddamn good point and I'm mad it didn't cross my mind. More mad at myself than I want to admit.
I spent a year living in a black mold infested basement suite paying 1500 bucks a month because this place has no housing
It has far better fire safety management than most of the illegal suites in this city
Evo seems to be the bike share standard BC municipalities are moving towards, it's nice to be able to use one account and app across the province and makes the subscription more worthwhile. Especially since it's a BC non-profit.
What a beautiful moment.
Am I so cooked that I thought SkyTrain before I even read the post?
BC Ferries suggests people take public transit and walk on as they deal with mechanical issues this long weekend. Unfortunately, the BC NDP cut BC Transit funding which was mostly taken from their extra hours budget, so they can't run extra buses to make up for the increased walk on passengers. #yyj
Canadians support high-speed rail.
A March 2026 survey from Abacus Data found 62% support for building it, versus 18% opposition.
Even a survey commissioned by opponents still shows majority support.

K but I have a question - Green Party??
A new 156-unit, below-market rental housing complex in West Vancouver is now fully occupied with 316 residents.
It provides local workforce housing, with 65% of residents being public workers, including school teachers & police officers. #vanpoli #vanre

I like the idea but what happens when they go through active pass
Another very good example of how woefully inadequate service is a much more important determinant than bargain basement fares in whether people will switch to PT from driving, especially when paired with ubiquitous underpricing of car-based transport.
If the city needs to install this sign drivers have really lost the plot

@victoria.ca drivers seem to be confused by the kings crossing at Blanchard, they think they can drive through it on a red if it's clear, this doesn't seem right

Google is now screwing with the 10 blue links in traditional search and rewriting headlines - including ours - to be the worst kind of slop. This sucks so bad www.theverge.com/tech/896490/...
The UK has a better chance of being a republic 20 years from now than Canada
Thanks Driver inside a heart shape
Huge thanks to the operators, mechanics, cleaners, dispatchers, and all the workers who keep Greater Victoria moving every day. Your care, patience, and professionalism make our community stronger. If you’re riding today, share a smile or a quick thank you.

Great new program by @capitalbike.ca - donate a bike. Got an extra bike in the household? “Bike It Forward”
Thank goodness, it's hard to keep track of these things
Please tell me that the bike valet hasn't been scrapped
I do my best to live a car free lifestyle on the peninsula, God knows I'd love to move into town, but it's really hard to advocate urbanist ideals when I see transit service getting cut left and right.
This conversation is only even happening because our politicians refuse to properly fund transit.
Our municipal politicians do not even want to put up the minimum required budget to maintain existing service. Our provincial politicians chose to cut service hours outright.
As someone who relies on the 72 to get downtown this is honestly making me consider getting a car instead, I guess 10+ minutes for the thousands of us who rely on the 72 is a price people in the core & west shore are willing to pay for a one seat ride to the airport, hope you like more congestion
This is the sort of stuff that makes me want Evo to be the CRDs E-bike share operator(we can have someone else operate a future acoustic bike share)
It's really cool that the provincial government maintains a free font that displays all Indigenous characters used across BC.
Slightly less cool that it only comes in three weights for some reason, all I want for Christmas is BC Sans Semibold
