Easter is a time of resurrection, a time of new beginnings. I pray this season brings you new joy and hope.

Opinion | The Light That Changed My Life

In the words of Isaiah, we have become a nation of smoldering wicks. We struggle to feel hope. We look at the world around us and ask: “Is this all there is? Is this really what it looks like to live in the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the history of the world?”

🕊️ Faith does not begin with proof.

The Resurrection is received through the witness of others—we hear it proclaimed and believe before we see. St. John of the Cross reminds us that seeking signs can weaken the faith we are called to grow.

The Archbishop for Military Services put out a statement last fall expressing frustration that the Army canceled contracts that help support Catholic chaplains and Catholic service members. It's starting to be a pattern, this lack of support for Catholics in the military.

Working and Homeless: The Invisible Population Growing Every Year | Amanpour and Company YouTube video by Amanpour and Company

I joined Amanpour & Company to talk about why "working homeless"—a term that should be a scandal—has become an ordinary fact of American life.

40% of officially-counted homeless people have jobs. And that's before we get to the millions who are rendered invisible, who are never counted at all.
