Anecdotal exp lines up with the above. Longer beard means I feel more air going through where it shouldn't. I take it as a sign that I need a trim.

We've had 2 mild colds in the last 6 years and my teens, having forgotten what being sick was like by then, hated those few days with a burning passion and are unlikely to ever stop masking now.
Wearing a respirator all the time can be annoying, being sick is so much worse.
I'd have no way of knowing if my teens took off their respirators at school. It's their choice.
They can see their peers catching illnesses multiple times a year. They prefer the annoyance of respirators to the consequences of being sick.
I don't like to mask either, but I hate being sick.
No need to test for us :( Those living in my house mask all the time in public and have had a single cold in 5 years. Every family member we'd visit does no such thing and would not test anyway.
We'll keep on protecting ourselves and letting others decide that they just don't care enough to.

I just convinced the school to include their masks in their intervention plan so they decide if they ever take it off (they are very unlikely to do so), not teachers. Gotta protect your best students, I guess?

Our PCP doesn't recognize "don't want to get sick" as a health reason to wear a mask under this proposed law. So our kids are screwed once it comes into effect.

Our PCP has so far refused to confirm that our kids are masking for health reasons because they have no preexisting condition.
Meanwhile, my son's GP just denied him getting a note that says he wears a mask for health reasons (not catching bugs) so he can keep wearing it at school.

Yup, that's why I have to figure out how to get a doctor's note to put on my kids' school file so teacher stop asking them to take off their respirators for silly reasons.
I don't know that doctors will write an "ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" kind of note...
It's higher than I expected. But that's because I don't expect healthy choices from parents given how few masks are worn at school.
