Unfortunately, my role as Senior Narrative Designer at Playtonic has been made redundant. I'm now open to Senior/principal writing & Narrative Design roles UK - Remote/Hybrid.

Much of the development of Thimbleweed Park was spent at home with my 18 month old daughter on my lap, just watching. I think it was a bonding experience for us both that we wouldn't have had if I was stuck in an office. I dread to think how many kids she dropped spoilers on in nursery.
Let's go! I can't wait to get stuck into this!
Our @tadej.bsky.social chatted with the legendary Dean Takahashi from VentureBeat about how it took us 11+ years to make 'Elroy and the Aliens'. 🚀

Admittedly, this has been on long term projects and developers have always had the opportunity to request more information. This isn't always an options when outsourcing, but as an internal QA, it's good to follow up on your stuff.
Bug reports are for humans. Treat the reader like one. Describe the issue clearly, like you're talking to them. Keep it simple, skip the fluff—9 times out of 10, they just want to investigate and move on. (I know this doesn’t apply to every team, but it's worked for me.)
Also, for the record: I firmly advocate that QA are game developers. If you help shape the game or improve the experience, you’re developing the game. Simple as that.
Game QA/Programmers - what’s your take? I prefer clear, concise bug reports over bloated templates. No "expected vs actual" or repro stats unless needed. Just describe the issue clearly, maybe a screenshot/vid. Worked well for most small teams I’ve been on, but curious how others feel. #gamedev #qa
"If you’re looking for a charming, dynamic adventure through the Western Frontier, strap in those boots and saddle up."
Verdict: Highly Recommended

I wrote a little poem about the time in 1999 I downloaded the Times Exclusive Tomb Raider level as a kid and racked up a huge telephone bill at my Grandma’s house. My Dad was furious! 😂
Friends! We’re beyond excited to announce that "Elroy and the Aliens," our hand-drawn adventure game, is OUT NOW! 🚀

Every step we took in crafting this world felt like a small healing process, seeing it come to life has been an incredibly cathartic experience. I’m proud to share it with you all, and hope it resonates with anyone who’s ever faced loss, uncertainty, or a need for a little hope.
It was as if the game gave me a space to process my grief, to find meaning in the chaos, and to reconnect with a part of myself that had felt lost. The characters journey helped me navigate my own.
It's hard to express what this game means to me, I started this project shortly after losing my father and immediately felt safe. The story wrapped me up in a wonderfully warm world where the characters were going through many of the emotions I was myself struggling with.
Take off in T-4 hours. 🚀
#ElroyAndTheAliens is launching today at 18:00 CET / 9 am PDT / 5 pm BST / 12 pm EDT.
I’m struggling to contain my excitement. I cannot wait until Elroy is out there for you all to enjoy!
