Baltimore has had success in lowering crime by providing youth opportunities instead of relying on punitive measures. Why aren’t DC leaders interested in this? We should be learning from Baltimore and trying new approaches.

the Soros conspiracy coming from Elon in particular is just embarrassing. you’re worth like 80x what Soros is buddy, if you thought he was buying elections you could snap your fingers and fix it.
I know everyone's chortling, but the other way to look at it is that the Democrats are like the only people on earth who have ever lost to JD Vance.
It’s not TV but Sam Rothstein refusing to rehire the county commissioner’s idiot nephew to some sinecure where he could do no harm was a blunder to end all blunders

First of all, here is a public link to the order instead of a link to a PACER login page media.cadc.uscourts.gov/orders/docs/...
Second, the order continues the district court’s stay of its own PI until April 17. The quoted language is from the dissent that would have thrown out the PI altogether
I know this isn’t the best medium for this kind of dialogue but i had such a different takeaway
What do you specifically like about this essay? I think it makes 1 valid point (DC can’t cut its way to growth) and has 1 solid recommendation (allow more by-right housing development). I don’t agree w/what seems like the main point—the problem is red tape & if we cut regulations growth will follow
this national championship will not resolve our horrifying problems but
psst—everyone vote for a mayor who won’t appoint a stooge for austerity to the office controlling DC’s coffers

Cool thank you for clearing that up
Candidates like @kenyanmcduffie.bsky.social will claim to be progressive democrats, but when they are backed by a super
PAC of essentially Mitt Romney republicans, it makes you think that they are not being entirely honest
