Aaaaand an updated best picture tier list

After the Oscars; I was curious if I historically preferred the film that won Best Picture or Best Original Screenplay.

In the last 33 years, there were 22 instances of the two categories having different winners.

In 15 of those 22, I think Screenplay clears

A month late. But all of my (new) 2025 TV/Movies/Anime ranked and tier listed out.

Feels like the first year in many that we actually had TV to be excited about.

Overall what a great year for games. Both remakes and new. Tho any year where I get Silksong was always going to be S tier.

Many Nights a Whisper is another short (90 min) game that accomplishes my favorite thing in art/media -- making me feel something.

At the end of the game I felt honest to goodness real life anxiety and confidence. How many games have made me do that? < ... 5?

Ooo is a ~2hr puzzle platformer that makes you feel so smart because of how well it teaches you all of the little mechanics. It borrows bits and pieces from ~10+ S Tier games in the puzzle and platform and metroid genera.

If you like puzzle platformers even a little, it's a must.

Consume Me won like... every? IGF award. I initially put it off after seeing good reviews earlier this year, but I am happy that I went back to it. As someone who also struggles somewhere on the ED spectrum - the narrative hits a little bit harder. I liked spending ~6hrs managing my meters

Pipistrello is the best 2D Zelda game in the last 10 years.

It has a fun story. The puzzling and exploration is heavily focused on platforming. It commits fully into a GBA aesthetic. A love letter done right that way way more people who like this style should try out.
