I’m looking for a social historian who might be able to give a talk for alumni on 1960s Oxford - any thoughts?

So pleased to see this appear! Proud to be in such amazing company… 🥰
Keen to read more academic work on the history of complementary schools teaching the home/heritage languages of migrants communities. Interested in any period (before the present), any language, and any place — doesn't have to be UK/European but historical perspectives essential!
Prof Kate McLoughlin has written for The Guardian about #silence and how it has 'inspired, daunted, comforted and terrified writers throughout the long course of English literature'.
I’m pleased to say that we’re advertising for a permanent lectureship in early modern English Literature (grade 7). I’m happy to answer any questions via email. Please circulate.

Have a lovely birthday! ☺️ Used to live near Marlborough and still there often. Nice town… Always wish something of the priory was left and I could imagine where Cecil died.
I wish I’d had this when I taught the language change bit if A level English Language. Fab resource for teachers!
I’m so sorry to hear this, Barbara. Your integrity is clear to anyone without an agenda of their own. Message me if there’s anything I can do to help (assuming I’m not blocked too…).
As if a row might be received as a rather nice gift..? I think my father thought that (though didn’t use the phrase!)
On 16 February, I'll be chatting to @tudorstuartseminar.bsky.social about how the new online catalogue descriptions for Elizabethan litigation in Star Chamber, Requests, and more have opened up the research potential of these vast collections. www.history.ac.uk/news-events/...
Only time I’ve ever been threatened with violence was in Stamford, Lincolnshire - NEVER in London. (I know I’m lucky!) Though I know it must happen, I’ve never seen it - through years of walking through many parts of the capital.

Meet Thomas the carter… New post follows Tudors moving around London, on the back of some recent research. What did Shakespeare’s commute look like and who invented the one-way street?

Don't miss this exploration of the idea of English 'island nationhood'!
So very sad to hear this. Deborah Cameron’s work was such an inspiration for me and my students when I taught English Language A level for many years, and I’ll really miss her sharp, perceptive blog posts - debuk.wordpress.com
