Bonus points for naming another film at the end. “Forget it, Jake, it’s Carry On Cruising.”

The audio industry mainly wants TV talent, not audio talent. Podcasts are Existing Big Talent doing more of the same. The West End wants stage adaptations of films you can already watch on iPlayer. It’s not just grim, it’s BORING.
“Studios want big bankable talent / projects” is nothing new. But when that’s ALL they’ll do, that’s a problem. And it’s an even bigger problem when studios are chasing talent who’d earn more money and a bigger audience by staying independent
A depressing thread about the TV industry right now - and with a few words switched around, you could apply much of it to the audio industry too
Very pleased to hear that this is coming back. Another class on Tuesday 21st April! www.newactorscentre.org/products/the...
“This is Part 57 of the Donald Trump Story - and this is Real Dictators.”
[cut to an advert for HR software]
Looking forward to hearing Paul McGann on an episode of Real Dictators purring the line:
“Trump even mocks up an image of himself healing the sick, in Messianic regalia. That’s on the same day he launches a bizarre tirade on the Pope, who’s apparently too ‘weak on crime’ for his liking.”
At that price, it’s practically free!
Tom Crowley and Viz is the crossover I never knew I needed until this moment!
!!!!
That’s when you know you’re working with a true professional 👌
House of Cards is the best piece of British telly made in the 20th century.
When I learned that the director was also once a Doctor Who villain, well, I don’t know how to end this sentence, but it sure was something.
He's pulled off his betting market scam again, has he?
Trump may not carry out the threat.
But the fact he even made such a threat means he should immediately be removed from office.
For that is the purpose of a constitution with checks and balances.
Will you accept fish, plankton, sea greens and protein from the sea?
BBC News story with a photo of the US President and the headline “Trump says ‘whole civilisation will die tonight’ if Iran fails to make deal as US strikes Kharg Island”
Took a screenshot in case I ever forget what irredeemable evil looks like.
“My parts are showing?!”
The Doctor stares despairingly at Kamelion, a shit silver humanoid robot.
Captured the moment when Peter Davison finally dispelled any doubts he’d had about leaving Doctor Who.
The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.
To be frank, History & Policy is struggling to find a precedent for this. But we’re waiting to hear back from Suetonius who’s promised us a policy paper.
THIS is the kind of discourse that will revive Bluesky

And then our next story is The Massacre, where Steven (and Peter) are utterly indispensable! All these missing episodes disguise how crucial Peter Purves was during this season. Absolutely rock solid.
Yeah, it’s notable how little Steven gets to do in these episodes. In Season 1, Ian would be dressing up as Zephon and infiltrating Dalek HQ while the Doctor fiddles with wires. Now the situation is reversed! And with Vyon as the action man, Steven hasn’t got a role to play.
“What ARE you talking about, Doctor?”
Doctor Who: Devil’s Planet
More gripping stuff from Douglas Camfield, making the most of a few tiny sets; these episodes are so well directed. William Hartnell is full of energy too. His dynamic with Nicholas Courtney is excellent and it’s got such Brigadier & Doctor vibes!
Just WOW! The thing that really shines through in these episodes is the Direction of Douglas Camfield. Every shot is crafted so meticulously. These feel like era defining episodes. Adrienne Hill gets to shine properly. Thank you @filmisfabulous.bsky.social
Doctor Who: The Nightmare Begins
For an episode that on audio seemed very standard set-up stuff, it’s amazing to see how tense and dynamic it is on screen! Douglas Camfield, you legend.
