I wonder why it’s not worth it? It’s not for a lack of Macs in the world? Is it just bad distribution? Or perhaps Mac users gave up expecting to be able to play video games on their computers? Or if you have a Mac you have a gaming console in the house, so? 🤔
I’d like to point out Dark Forces came out for Mac OS in the 90s—not a great time to build for Mac. One of the few games I owned. But the Remaster? Nope. Windows only. 😆
What’s odd is it feels like many of the smaller devs/studios are putting more effort in here than the larger studios.
End rant!
Apologies but this has been a thing since I started using Mac OS in the late 80s and it just seems nothing Apple does moves the needle. It has always seemed like Apple needs to pay companies to get them to distribute their games on the Mac. And that seems less than ideal.
Maybe the tools many use are just so platform specific still? Maybe it’s a hatred of Apple’s system sandboxing? Surely it’s not performance? APIs? Hmm.
I want to buy games but there are many just unavailable, so I can’t. Do I want to run hacks like WINE? Absolutely not.
Let me give you my money. 😆
Why do so many game developers avoid building for macOS?
There are plenty of indie games that come to macOS through Steam… which I very much appreciate, and I suspect it’s because tools like Unity make it easy(ish).
I understood this in the ‘90s with Mac marketshare to Windows, but these days?
🤔
Shame Apple didn’t have one of those cameras on Orion/Artemis to make a new Apple TV screensaver of the Moon.

This was an enjoyable episode for an enjoyable book. Thanks @lainenooney.bsky.social
Been enjoying tuning into this mission’s live stream. It’s fun to think that you can fire a bucket of humans at an empty spot in the sky and time it such that the Moon traveling along its orbit will sweep them up in its gravity and slingshot them back to Earth.
We saw the Super Mario Galaxy movie and I realized part way through that I've forgotten what Chris Pratt's real voice sounds like.
LOVE this. ❤️
Humans bringing modern high quality digital cameras to the Moon is very exciting. I do wish the live stream was 24/7, 60fps, and high res but hey maybe next time. :)
I played @com.y-a-c-h-t.com 's Blippo+ today on Steam Deck docked under our TV, and it was such a delight to discover (by accident) that I could control it with a TV remote. This works because the dock supports HDMI CEC but it felt like magic for Blippo+ specifically. 10/10 experience.
The kids are super inspired by the Artemis II launch. They’re building one out of Magna-tiles right now. 🙂
Hey can I leave Earth too? 😂😅😮💨
If you'd like to follow along with the #Artemis II launch, NASA has a live blog here: www.nasa.gov/blogs/missio...
and you can watch the official broadcast on the NASA site here:

Maybe avoid the new dogfood takeout place until you figure out what’s going on.
I finally setup two HomePod minis as a stereo pair on my desk and it's pretty great sound wise. Yes, it has taken me this long to realize I could do this (I thought stereo pairing was reserved for the large HomePods).
Hey I'll be happy if Toad pulls and tosses a turnip from the ground.
Right! dille.nz is $30. ;)
