I'm *very* excited to report that we got initial funding and have hired our first Rust maintainers!
RustNL's Rust Maintainers Team starts out with two full time maintainers, one intern, and five part-time maintainers, now stably employed to continue their work on Rust! π

You can download UTM for free from Github: github.com/utmapp/UTM/r...
As described in docs.getutm.app/installation..., the only difference between the store version and the github version are the automatic updates.

Here is the promised recording of the first East Bay Rust meetup event. Unfortunately, Block won't be hosting future events at its office, so you know of any companies / venues that would open to hosting it, please let us know.

I am very curious why you use Sublime Text for Rust.

You can subscribe to Luma calendar to be notified of future events: luma.com/eastbayrust.
We also have a Discord server: discord.gg/PB9ZTFvA.
We will soon have a recording of the event, and I will share it here.
Hopefully we will have opportunity to host these events on a monthly basis. If you are interested in giving a talk in one of these, please reach out to us. Thanks!
I would like to say huge thank you to everyone involved in helping with this event, including Esther, Mary, @rad.gendervibes.online, @afloat.boats, @sunshowers.io, @okdistribute.bsky.social, Jonathan Kelley, Brendan O'Brien, and Bradley Axen.
Attendees enjoyed 4 wonderful talks with speakers from Dioxus, Zed Industries, N0, and Block, and had opportunity to talk about Rust and exchange ideas.

𧡠We had a fantastic turnout yesterday at the first East Bay Rust meetup event at Block's Oakland office. We had over 70 people in attendance in total. We had to turn people away since we ran over our initial planned capacity for the event.

Thanks for your work on Asahu Linux, Michael.
Book cover of "Designing Data-Intensive Applications, 2nd edition". It has a similar wild boar on the cover as the first edition, but it uses O'Reilly's new cover design, and the boar is now slightly colourised.
The second edition of Designing Data-Intensive Applications, by myself and @chris.blue, is finished and sent off to the printers! Ebooks should be available in the next week, and print books in 3β4 weeks. Sigh of relief. π
(BTW, this is a good opportunity to support your favourite local bookshop!)
We are excited to announce that we can successfully use Rust's async/await on the GPU. This has never been done before.
www.vectorware.com/blog/async-a...
Supporting Rust's async/await (and futures) enables existing Rust code to work on the GPU and makes GPU programming more ergonomic.
Do you want to make a short note in the next blog post on how you came up with the name Dada?

Do you mind sharing the prompt(s) you used?
For how long did you have it so far? Based on the reviews I read so far, these devices break down pretty fast. Thatβs what stopped me last time.
Which one do you use?
On Apple M3, a Linux KDE plasma desktop under Fedora Asahi Remix is now WORKING! Super excited to share this update and happy to answer any questions! Co-credits to noopwafel and Shiz. :)
Is it possible to expand roam readme?
